30 Days with Genevieve
Chapter 14
What would you do if your crush and a guy that you barely know shared a room? Maybe you would go nuts, and that would be acceptable. But Peter and Genevieve were not sharing a room, right? They were just exchanging a few kisses at a dark closer.
I had to calm down and keep myself from punching Peter. But that was harder than I thought. My face was extremely red because of how jealous I felt. I wanted to scream and shout, and let everyone know how I felt at the exact moment. But I did something else instead. I took a deep breath and faked a smile. "In what closet are they?" I asked, trying to sound relaxed.
"That one," Nate said while pointing at one of the closets upstairs. I scowled and rushed upstairs.
Once I saw the closet's door, I smiled evilly and opened the door. To my surprise, I found Peter and Genevieve blushing and looking at the ground.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Oh," Genevieve said as she saw me. "Nothing. We are just going to spend fifteen minutes here and tell everyone that we kissed."
"Yeah," Peter said. "Just so they think that something really happened here."
My face turned to its normal color and I smirked. "That's great."
"Yeah," Peter said.
"Why don't you go with Julia, Peter?" I asked, motioning for him to get out.
"Sure," he said. He walked downstairs and I entered the closet and closed the door.
"What?" Genevieve asked as I stared at her.
"Nothing. I was just seeing how beautiful you are," I muttered.
She chuckled. "There is no light in the room. You can barely see me."
"Well," I said. "That's because I am watching you with the eyes of my heart." Genevieve stayed quiet, so I decided to finally tell her how I felt. "When I heard you were here with Peter, I got extremely jealous, and I wanted to punch Peter so bad..."
"Why?" she asked sheepishly.
"Because I like you," I said. "I really do."
"Really?"
"Really," I answered. "And I would like to know if you like me, too."
She sighed. "It's hard to explain."
"What do you mean?"
"When I first met you, I wanted to puke because I thought you were one of those disgusting guys that just wanted to have sex. I was surprised that you talked to me, and I got scared. I accepted to go out with you because I thought that way you would back off. But you didn't."
"That's right," I told her.
"Then, I started to like you. I thought it was just because you were my first guy friend, but then I realized it was because I loved your personality."
"So?"
"I guess I like you. But I am afraid of what might happen if we decide to be together," she whispered sadly.
"Don't be afraid, Genni," I told her.
"My dad told that to my mom, and look at how she ended," she said.
"What happened between your mom and your dad? Did she leave your dad or something?" I asked confused.
"It's a long story," she said.
