30 Days with Genevieve
Chapter 10
Day 9:
I was not able to sleep the whole night. Genevieve was mad at me, and that made a lot of things more complicated. I knew I had to do something about it, but I had no idea of what. She told me this was my last chance, and I ruined everything.
How could I be so stupid? She was starting to like me, and things were going perfectly. But I had to ruin everything like I always did. I knew just one person could help me to make Genevieve forgive me. Nathan.
That guy could do really great things. He could make a girl fall for him in less than a week. He taught me everything that I knew, and even if that was not something I'm very proud of, he was the one who introduced me to Heather.
I took a deep breath and walked to his locker, knowing he was going to be there. Peter was at the restroom doing his human necessities, so I was all alone at the hallways of the huge school.
Once I spotted Nathan, I walked to him and smiled. "Hi."
"Hey," he said while slamming his locker's door. "What's going on? You did not talk to me the whole week nor during Hailey's party and now you are here again? She dumped you, right? I knew she would."
"Um, not really..." I said while biting my bottom lip. "Actually, we were not even dating."
"Don't lie to me, Sean!" he exclaimed with a serious expression.
"I am not lying. We are just friends," I said.
"Are you being completely honest with me, mister?" he asked while his green eyes stared me. I nodded. "Okay then. What do you need?"
"Well, the thing is... she is very kind and sweet, and I really like how she makes me feel. But she does not want anything serious, and I guess that kind of made me feel extremely angry. I know she does not deserve to deal with someone like me, but I just can't help myself."
"What did you do?" he asked confused.
"I told her I would never fall for her because we were way too different, and I guess that kind of hurt her. Now, she is mad at me and I want to sort things out with her, but I do not know how."
"Just man up and tell her you are sorry!"
"That won't work. The thing with Genevieve is that, even if she is so sweet and kind, she has a very stubborn side, and she told me last time that she would never forgive me if I did something to her, again."
"Again?" he asked puzzled.
"Yeah, she got mad at me for what happened at Hailey's party. It's a long story. Anyway, I need you to please help me! I don't know what to do in order to make her forgive me!" I exclaimed. I know I sounded desperate, but that's because I was.
"Are you kidding me?" he asked smirking. "Of course I'll help you! That's what friends do!"
"Really? Thanks, man!" I exclaimed smiling. He was an awesome friend.
"But--" he started to say before I cut him off.
"There's always a 'but'!" I exclaimed stressed.
"You need to come to a party at my house this Sunday," he said. "I am celebrating the end of the year. Can you believe it? We are graduating next Saturday! I can't believe we made it!" His eyes lit up as he told me about how cool graduation was going to be. I had totally forgotten that we were graduating.
Graduation. I was looking forward to it since the beginning of the year. But now it was just another pointless and worthless party. Nothing less, nothing more. Just another reminder that I had no future. I wanted to enter college and do many things, but I guess that was not goint to happen.
