30 Days with Genevieve

Chapter 18

Day 17:

"Goodbye, mom," I said smiling.

"Bye, Sean. Have fun with Genni," she said smirking. I smiled and nodded, and then I closed the door behind me.

It was here, the weekend was finally here. After eons and half a century of waiting, the weekend has arrived.

I was currently walking to Genevieve's house, and even if Peter insisted on going with me to her grandparents' house, I told him I was going to be okay, but the truth is, I told him that because I did not want him to be around telling me what to do and what to say.

I walked for several minutes, and I finally arrived at Genni's house. I knocked on the door, and the door swung open after several knocks, revealing Genevieve's dad.

"What are you doing here?" he asked with a cold tone of voice.

"I came here because Genevieve asked me to," I replied simply.

He just shrugged. "Genevieve! Your friend is here!" he exclaimed nonchalantly.

I just gulped and smiled innocently, but he kept glaring at me, which scared me. I lowered my face as I waited for Genni to save me from her incredibly rude father. Finally, I saw how she walked to where I was standing and smiled. "Hey, Scofield."

"Hey," I said sheepishly.

"Are you ready?" she asked smirking.

"Ready for what?" Genevieve's dad asked confused.

"I forgot to tell you," she said. "He is coming with me."

Genni's dad just chuckled. "Are you serious? Your grandpa is not going to like it! He will make him leave before he even enters the house!"

"I don't think so," Genni said smiling. "Not if I tell him he is going to be a lawyer when he grows up. You know how much Grandpa loves lawyers."

"Oh, you wouldn't!" exclaimed Genevieve's dad angrily.

"Oh, trust me. I would," she said. She then took her suitcase and got out of the house.

"What if he doesn't like me, Genni? What if your dad is right?" I whispered on her ear.

"Don't worry about it," she muttered.

"I hope you understand that you are making a mistake by going out with this guy, Genevieve,"

"Just leave me alone, dad. I know what I'm doing. It's my life after all," she said non-chalantly.

She grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the house, and I just smiled as I saw how she finally got the guts to stand for what she wanted. I saw how her dad just shook his head and closed the house's front door, which made me smile slightly.

"We must wait for my grandfather to come. He is going to pick us up in a little," she said. She sat down at her beautiful garden and closed her eyes. "Let's just sit here and wait for him, okay?"

I sat down next to her and smiled as I saw how cute she looked. "You look really cute with your eyes closed," I told her.

She blushed. "Thanks."

"You are welcome," I said smiling.

"Sean..." she said, opening her eyes so that she would look at me while talking. "Yesterday I did something I really regret. That kiss should have never... I mean, it was great but.... It was... a mistake..."
