30 Days with Genevieve.

Chapter 13

Day 12:

I woke up and instantly regretted telling Genevieve that I liked her. I had a weird dream, and it basically consisted on Genevieve telling me she did not want to be my friend anymore because I ruined everything by confessing my feelings.

Maybe telling her how I felt was not the best idea, but I felt a little bit relieved because at least I was not hiding anything to her. Well, except for the fact that I was not telling her that I needed her in order to enter Heaven, but we all have our secrets.

I threw a pillow at Peter, and he instantly sat up and opened his eyes, making a funny face."I'm awake!"

"Yeah, I can see you are," I said rolling my eyes.

"What do you want? I was having my beauty sleep!" he whined.

"Sorry," I muttered. "I need to know something."

"What is it?" he asked while stretching his arms.

"Does Genevieve like me?" I asked.

"As a friend?" he asked. "Of course."

"You know what I mean, Peter," I told him. "As more than a friend."

"Why don't you ask her?" he said handing me my phone. I sighed and dialed Genevieve's phone number. It rang five times before she answered with her beautiful voice.

"Hello?"

"H-hey," I said in almost a whisper. "It's me!"

"What's up?" she asked with her sweet voice.

"I must ask you a question," I replied.

"Yes?"

"Do you..." I started. Peter smirked and motioned for me to keep going. "Would you like to go to Nathan's party with me?" I blurted out. Peter stared at me confused, and I just shrugged.

"I don't think so, Scofield," she replied. "Last party was a total chaos."

"I know it was, but this one will be different, I promise."

"What if they make fun of me like last time?" she asked.

"They won't," I answered. "And if they do screw them. You are not going to see them anymore. You are going to go to College and study to be the best doctor ever, and they will regret making fun of you!"

"Do you really think I would be a good doctor?" she asked.

"I am completely sure that you will be an awesome doctor," I said.

"Thanks," she said. "What are you doing after graduation?"

What a good question. What was I going to do after graduation? Well, I was going to die. Genevieve was going to have a wonderful future, and I was going to die. Nathan would probably join the military, he told me so. But what was I going to do? Die. Nothing less and nothing more than dying.

"Hello?" Genevieve's voice made me push away my thoughts.

"Oh, I still don't know," I told her. "Maybe I will go to Los Angeles and try as an actor."

"That sounds great," she said.

"Yeah," I muttered. "It does."

There was a dead silence. Perhaps Genevieve was thinking about something. "I think I'm going to the party with you," she said.

I smirked. "Thanks."

"Yeah," she answered nonchalantly.

"By the way, don't forget to wear a mask. Everyone will wear one," I reminded her.
