30 Days with Genevieve

Chapter 19

Day 19:

To say I had an extremely peaceful sleep would be an understatement. I slept really well. I felt like my bed was the most comfortable bed ever. I almost felt how angels surrounded me while I slept, even if that sounds kind of ridiculous.

Maybe it was because Genevieve had that effect on me, or maybe I was just starting to relax a little bit more. Whatever the reason was, I slept like a baby that night. I would have slept for much longer, but a beautiful voice woke me up on the morning.

"Good morning, sleepyhead. It's time for us to leave," said Genevieve.

I opened my eyes, confused because of Genevieve's sudden appearance in my room. "What are you doing here?" I asked as I stretched both of my arms.

"Just wanted to see how you slept," she said winking. My eyes widened. "Just kidding, I came here to let you know we are leaving. You know, we have to get ready for graduation and all that stuff."

"Oh, that's right," I said smirking. "How did you sleep?"

"Okay, I guess," she said shrugging. "I had a really weird dream though."

"What did you dream?" I asked, curious.

She opened her mouth to say something, but then she quickly shook her head. "It doesn't matter."

"Come on," I said. "Tell me."

She crossed her arms around her chest stubbornly. "I said it doesn't matter. Now, get ready. We are leaving in one hour." And with that said, she left the room.

I just chuckled and got up from the bed. Genevieve was incredibly the only person who could tell me what to do without bothering me. She just knew how to make me do whatever she wanted me to.

"Goodbye, Mr. Tancredi," I said once I was out of his car. He took me to my house, and he behaved correctly with Genevieve on our way home.

"Goodbye, Sean. Thanks for your visit," he said.

I smirked. "Anytime."

He just smiled, and Genevieve shook her hand happily. "Thanks for coming with me, Scofield. See you later." Then, Franco drove away with Genevieve, and they left me by myself.

I entered my house slowly, and my mom rushed to the entrance and gave me a hug. "I'm glad you are back, sweetie!" she exclaimed. "We missed you so much!"

I heard footsteps coming from the stairs, and then I saw Emma walking hurriedly towards me. She smiled and gave me a hug. "I missed you, phenomenon," she teased.

"I missed you, too, godzilla," I replied.

"Who's getting graduated today?" asked my mom eagerly.

"Me!" I said playfully as I raised my right hand.

"Good boy!" Emma exclaimed.

I chuckled. "Is dad coming?"

"Hopefully yes," said my mom. "He asked for permission on the job, but they haven't answered, yet."

"Oh, I see," I said sadly. "I hope he is able to make it."

"We hope so, too, dear," my mom said.

Emma poked me and smirked. "How does it feel to be able to graduate?"

"It feels great," I told her, even if I couldn't have cared less about that graduation.

"I'm so excited about this!" my mom exclaimed as she place my mortarboard on my head. She couldn't help but let a little bit of tears run down her cheeks as she stared at me happily.
