I smile and laugh at the thought of me liking you,
I think I'm finally over you,
trying to convince myself you're just a waste of my time.
But then,
I stop,
my smile fades,
and tears form.
I can't just stop liking you,
that's not how it works,
it's never that easy.
A tree doesn't just decide to stop growing,
it just grows until it can't any longer.
Carrying on its journey forever,
until it absolutely can't.
