Chapter 17: Proposal

Liam cleared the table while I did the dishes and the boys sat there and chatted. Whenever I had to clean, I hummed or singed softly. I found that this soothed me and passed the time quickly. I was mid-song when I noticed that there was no other sound in the kitchen, but my singing. I stopped and blushed.

"Don't be embarrassed, love," Zayn shifted his body on his chair, "you sound good, love. It must be genetic." I turned to him, shaking my head. Liam patted my back as he set plates in front of me. The boys continued to talk as Liam and I continued to clean. I picked up where I left off in the song I was singing, but I sang much more softly.

Suddenly, Harry shushed everyone. He tried to do it quietly, to avoid me noticing, but they couldn't hear him so he nearly had to shout. I stopped singing and turned around.

"If you guys keep making a spectacle of me, I will not continue singing, EVER, in your presence." I stated simply. Harry smiled, flashing his dimples. I thought my heart would stop. I looked away and bit my lip.

"Don't flatter yourself, babe," Louis teased me, "we weren't trying to listen to YOU, but what you were singing."

"You were singing one of our songs?" Niall looked at me. I guess I was singing one of their songs, subconsciously.

"She was singing moments. I have to say, you sing Zayn's part better than Zayn does." Liam complimented me with a warm smile. Zayn reached over and slapped him on the leg.

"I think you sounded great, sweet cheeks. Maybe better than Zayn..." Harry looked over to Zayn with mocking eyes. He was out of Zayn's reach, so Zayn took it out on me. Without getting out of his chair, he yanked me by my waist into his lap. He trapped me in his muscular arms, holding me still. He leaned his lips up to my ear.

"Who is better at singing my part, love? You or me?" He asked menacingly.

"Zayn," I tried to push away, which made him tighten his grip, "let go." Liam rolled his eyes at us and continued to clean while Harry just glared.

"I asked you a question, love." Zayn's fingers slipped down to my sides and stomach. He started to tickle me.

"Zayn!" I almost shouted between laughs.

"It is just a simple one word answer, love. You or me... I don't know why you are getting so worked up." He breathed out, shakily from laughing.

"YOU! Your better!" I shrieked.

"That's what I thought. Took you too long to admit, though." He laughed as he continued to tickle me. I tried to get up from his lap, but he held me down.

"Zayn!" I shrieked, still laughing. He didn't stop.

Suddenly, Harry pushed out from the table, screeched his chair across the floor and stormed out. Zayn stopped tickling me, but I remained in his lap. We all looked at each other. Louis stood up.

"I think Harry has his period." He joked, leaving the room. "I'll see what is up," he called back. Had that little episode with Zayn made Harry jealous? I didn't know what to do. I wasn't going to stop interacting with the other boys just because Harry had jealousy problems. I got off of Zayn's knee and went to help Liam clean up.

"Suze," Liam turned to me, cupping my chin in his hand, "we only have two days before we have to leave again. The boys and I, we, well, we really enjoy spending time with you. You're my little sister and I want to be with you as much as possible. I, and the boys, I want you to move in with me. We are leaving for tour on Friday. You can come with us. If you'd like. I would like it." I held my breath. I wanted so badly to say yes, but I couldn't.
