Chapter 55: Skyscraper

Susie’s P.O.V

There I said it. I don’t think I’ve ever said that to someone before. My first and only other boyfriend had been Tyler. Even in the good times, I never loved him. It was a mere crush, if that even.

I looked up at him and bit my lip. How was he going to react? I had no idea what to expect. I waited for a moment while he just stared at me. Suddenly, his eyes shone brighter, his jaw dropped open, and he reached his hands up and pulled me into a hug. His mouth formed a smile. I couldn’t help but smile to. We stood there for a little bit. His long arms wrapped around waist, my arms around his neck. My face was buried in his chest while his chin rested on my shoulder. It was nice. There was no talking or kissing. There was just hugging. It was simple.

“I feel so… it’s indescribable, Suze, I feel happy. I just feel good.” He murmured into my hair.

“I know what you mean.” I laughed and pulled away from him. I didn’t stop the hug completely, I just loosened my arms and leaned back so that I could see his eyes. I actually couldn’t see his eyes because his hair was all pushed forward and the curly locks were blocking his green orbs. He leaned down and gave me a small peck on the lips and then pulled away. He opened his mouth to say something, but then the door to the little car opened. I looked around; we had reached the bottom of the Eye. That was quick.

I walked over to the door as Harry climbed out. He held out his hand and helped me out afterward.

“That wasn’t so bad, now was it?” He led me further away from the London Eye, guiding me with a hand on the small of my back.

“Not really.” I admitted.

“All you needed was a distraction,” he laughed.

“Quite a distraction,” I muttered to myself; of course he would hear. He raised an eyebrow at me, but kept urging me forward.

“I meant every word.” He said seriously.

“Me too,” I replied, just as serious. He looked down at me again, but didn’t say anything. He stopped suddenly in front of a tiny diner in a small street.

“Ah, he we are babe.” He opened the door for me. I stepped into a posh little restaurant. It was very small, but nice. It was classy. We were greeted at the door by a man in a tuxedo. He promptly led us to a table for two in the back. We passed the two other filled tables and received shocked stares. I was taken aback at first, but realized that it was Harry; they were staring at Harry. I would be too, if a celebrity pop star boy band member walked into a tiny unknown restaurant.

“Thank you,” I smiled to the tuxedo man as he pulled out my chair for me. Harry took the seat across from me and thanked the man. He gave us menus and walked away.

“How’d you find this place?” I asked putting my menu down. Harry was still looking and just raised his eyes to look at me over the menu. He ignored my question and continued to look. Finally he put the menu down and looked to me.

“A girl Zayn slept with once showed him this place. He showed me and now I’m showing you.” He stated simply. I nodded.

“What are you going to get?” I asked.

“A sirloin steak, like the Americans have. What about you?”

“I have no idea, it all looks so good.” I admitted, returning back to my menu.

“Can I suggest the Water Cress Salmon?” He pointed out an item on the menu. I looked at the description; it looked good, so I decided to order it. He pulled my menu away and gave it to a waiter who had come to take our orders.
