"You're not joking?" tanong ko kay Denice. Bahagya pa ring gulat sa balita niya.

"No, I promise!" Dinambahan niya ako ng yakap sa sobrang tuwa.

"Really huh? Then who's your parents? Your biological parents?"

Kumalas siya ng yakap, nakakagat sa kaniyang labi pigil sa pagngiti nang malawak. She came here and told me that she's adopted. Na buhay pa ang magulang niya. Hearing it from her makes me happy. Alam kong matagal niya ng pangarap iyon kahit pa sabihing napaka-imposible but look at her situation now. Nothing is really impossible.

Ngumiti siya sa akin. Excitement was written all over her face.

"Who's the lucky family?" I asked, patiently waiting for her.

"Mga Caviezel!"

I stiffened. Parang tumigil ang mundo ko sa narinig. Not the Caviezel!

The fucking Caviezel who killed my mother! Iisang pamilya lang ng Caviezel ang kilala rito kaya alam kong iyon ang tinutukoy niya.

I blinked my eyes and nodded.

"I-I am fine."

I didn't tell her anything about my family's past. Ang alam niya lang ay hindi maganda ang tingin ng pamilya ko sa mga ito. She doesn't have any idea that the Caviezel destroyed my family...

"You said they wanted you to go with them tomorrow, right? Kung sasabihin ko ba sa'yo na 'wag kang sumama sa kanila, hindi ka sasama?" Seryoso ang mukha ko at maging siya ay napawi ang ngiti.

Should I tell her? Naguguluhan ako.

"W-why?"

She didn't explain anything kung paano niya nalaman na iyon ang pamilya niya, basta't sinabi niyang umamin ang lolo't lola niya.

Gusto kong humingi ng sorry but my mind and lips just wont cooperate. Ayaw bumuka ng bibig ko para sabihin iyon. Maybe because I know that I am right. That the family weren't good as she thought.

"I already warned you." That's the only thing that I said before standing up pumunta ako sa kitchen para kumuha ng tubig.

It's not that I don't want her to meet her own family. It's just so complicated.

Habang umiinom ay rinig ko ang yapak niya papunta sa direksyon ko.

"I don't know why you're not supporting me. This is my chance. Gusto kong maranasan na magkaroon ng magulang! A mother, a father... Maybe you don't understand because you have your father, a biological father." Ibinaba ko ang baso at tumitig sa kaniya. The sadness in her eyes and voice makes me feel guilty this time.
