Chapter 2

After a while, Poppy packed her suitcase and went downstairs and left once she saw Adam was passed out drunk from all of his cans. She made sure she had her wallet, her passport and her keys and she left, even though she was leaving a day early, she couldn't stand being there one more day enduring beatings. She headed straight for the cop station and she was took inside to give her statement, she showed them her bruises and beatings and the cops bought her straight to hospital for a rape kit, she had to endure the rape and the pain all over again, it was complete torture. The nurse gave her morning after pill after knowing Adam unloaded inside her, she did not want this relationship and she certainly didn't want his bastard child. The cops went to arrest Adam and Poppy was able to stay in a hostel until the next day to complete her allegations against Adam and then be able to leave for Wales.

She told the cops that the house was in her name and she didn't want him back in the house ever again, she was finally seeing her courage again and this time she knew she wasn't taking him back, this time she knew she could do better. So once the cops let her free to go, Poppy went straight to the airport to go do what she loved doing best and that was her love for photography and Metal music. She got on board to Wales and to her shock, Bullet For My Valentine were also travelling on the same flight. She sat on her window seat in first class and she took out her hard sweets to nibble on for take off. She had her headphones in playing her playlist with Bullet, Rammstein, Metallica, 5FDP, Arch Enemy, In This Moment amongst many more when suddenly Padge and Jai sit beside her and Matt and Moose sit in front. Matt, Moose and Jai fall asleep more or less straight away and Padge smiles at Poppy and said looks like your stuck with me to talk to as these fuckers fell asleep on me already. The plane starts to move and head for the runway to take off and Poppy digs her nails into the armrests as Poppy hated the taking off part of flying.

Padge: Nervous?

Poppy: Not really, I just hate taking off part

Padge: Me too, so what's your name?

Poppy: Poppy

Padge: Hi Poppy, my name is Michael but you can call me Padge

Poppy: Nice to meet you

Padge: So what's bringing you to Wales?

Poppy: Work

Padge: Very good, what do you do?

Poppy: I'm a photographer for Metal Hammer and Kerrang Magazine

Padge: Nice so no doubt you will be heading to Bridgend tonight to see us play?

Poppy: Maybe

Padge: Tease

Poppy: Sorry

Padge: U listening to much?

Poppy: Metallica at the moment

Padge: What song?

Poppy: Enter Sandman

Padge: Good taste

Poppy: Thank you

Padge: So what hotel you staying in?

Poppy: The Maredy

Padge: No way, us too

Poppy: Small world ha-ha

Padge: Indeed, can give you lift if you like, my car is at airport

Poppy: Awfully nice of you but you don't know me, why would you give me a lift?

Padge: Cos I'm nice I guess

Poppy: Seems that way, just not used to men being nice

Padge: How so?

Poppy: Long story

Padge: I'm all ears if you wanna tell me

Poppy: I rather not if that's OK

Padge: No problem, offer there anyway if you want!

Poppy: Thank You

So we head to land and Poppy again digs her nails into the armrests while Padge holds her hand too and she gives him a weak smile. Padge then wakes up Jai and Matt and Moose in the front and they stand up and take their hand luggage. Padge even took down Poppy's bag and she thanked him before walking in front of him off the plane.

Poppy gets to the terminal and the boys were still behind her. Padge shouts to her

Padge: Poppy, you want that lift?

Poppy: Sure if you don't mind!

Padge: Not a problem, don't mind the 3 boys too

Poppy: Thanks and not at all, if they don't mind me

Matt: No problem hunny

At the luggage area, the boys bags came through first and then finally Poppy's came, she stuck out her hand to grab her bag and her sleeve of her jacket rolled up and Padge and Matt saw the bruises on her arm.

Padge: What's that?

Poppy: Nothing

Padge: Don't look like nothing hun

Poppy: Its nothing I swear

Matt: OK sorry, we just hope your OK

Poppy: Never being better

Poppy turns on her phone and straight away it beeps for ages. She reads all the texts from Adam, one caught her eye, " You called the cops on me and got them to evict me from our house, the fucking cheek of you, you just wait til I see you again, you won't live to tell a soul " . Tears rolled down Poppy's face as she read them all.

Jai: I'm sorry to say this but there is defiently something up, so please tell me, what's up?

Poppy: Just stuff going on back in London, I'll be OK thanks

Padge: U sure?

Poppy: Yeah thanks

Padge' P.O.V

So Poppy was a lovely girl that I got talking to on the plane since the boys fell asleep on me, she was a nervous flyer as she dug her nails into the armrests of her seat, and we got talking, I find out she is a photographer for Kerrang and Metal Hammer Magazines, so I asked her if she was going to our concert tonight, she just teased me and said maybe, she told me she was staying on the same hotel as us, "The Maredy", so I offered her a lift due to my car being at airport already, she kindly accepted and when we were at baggage reclaim, myself and Matt saw bruises up Poppy's arms, we asked her what it was but she really didnt wanna talk about it, so we dropped talking about it until we saw tears going down her face as she was reading her texts.

Jai asked her if she was ok, she just brushed it off as problems at home so we made our way out of de airport, but there was press everywhere, we walked past them all and headed for my car, we managed to squish the luggage in the boot and Poppy didn't have much so she sat in the front with her bag on her lap. We drove the 20 minute drive to the Hotel and we checked in, we told Poppy we would see her later as we had to go to rehearsals before the show.
