*Scarlett's POV*
I walked inside the front door as quietly as I could, hoping no one would hear me. I slowly walked up the staircase making sure not to make any noise. I walked into my bedroom and changed into sweats and a loose tank top. I stared at the pictures of me and Jason that I put on my nightstand. I can't believe tonight happened. Everything that went on. Our little date. Our kiss. I kissed Jason McCann. The Jason McCann. 'What did I get myself into?' I thought to myself before falling into a deep slumber.
-Next Morning-
My eyes fluttered open, blinking several times having to get used to the sunlight. I slid out of bed and put my hair into a messy ponytail. I walked down the stairs and saw mom cooking breakfast in the kitchen. "Morning sweetie." She said. "Morning." I said in monotone. "So, did you have fun with Ashley last night?" She asked. I raised an eyebrow at her even though she wouldn't see me. "What?" "Ashley? You did go to her house last night, right?" She asked turning to me.
My mom wasn't at home the past several days due to her work. So she technically doesn't know I was at Jason's crews house those two days. So she probably thinks I was at Ashley's when I was really with Jason. "Oh yeah. We hung out for awhile. Sorry I came home late." I quickly lied. She chuckled. "It's okay. You're a nineteen year old girl. It's fine."
She said waving her hand around. "So where's dad?" I asked. "The office. He got over time, so he won't be back until later." She stated. I nodded. My phone quickly buzzed next to me. I reached for it and read the two text messages I received.
'From: Ashley
Hey! How was your date with McCann?(;'
'From: Jason
Hey, I really had fun last night. I was wondering if maybe you'd like to hang out today as well?'
I smiled at both of the texts. I smiled at how Ashley cared about my date and wanted to know more. And how Jason wanted to hang out again. I replied to Ashley on how the date went and even our kiss. And I texted Jason that I'd love to hang out again. Ashley didn't respond but Jason did.
'From: Jason
Great! Can I pick you up at 3?'
I looked at the time which read 10:36. Just enough time to get ready. I opened the text and wrote 'Yeah, I'd love to. But park down the street. My moms home.' I hit send and walked up the stairs to get ready. I didn't even bother to tell my mom where I was going. I'll just tell her I'm taking a walk.
Since ill be walking down the street to Jason's car. I looked and grabbed a pair of skinny jeans and a loose floral blouse. I fixed my hair up slightly. Lastly, I slid on some flats and walked back downstairs. Since I still had a few hours ahead of me I thought maybe I'd watch some tv.
About several hours later, my phone started buzzing again. I unlocked it and Jason texted me saying he was down the street. I stood up from the couch and shut off the tv walking to the front door. "Mom?" I called out. "Yeah." She said. "I'm gonna take a walk, then probably go to Ashley's." I said opening the door. "Okay have fun and be careful." I walked out the front door and already saw Jason's car parked at the end of the street.
I walked steadily to his car, feeling the cool breeze in my hair. I reached the passengers side of his car and hopped in. "Hi." I giggled. "Hey, what's so funny?" He smiled. I shrugged. "I dont know. I'm just giggly?" I said in an 'asking' tone. He rolled his eyes playfully."We're just gonna hang out at the house. Is that okay?" He questioned. I nodded. "Yeah, I'm okay with it." He nodded as well and headed towards the house.
He pulled into the driveway and put the car in park. We both jumped out of the car and walked in the house. The house was silent. So silent. "Hmm? I guess the guys aren't here?" Jason said from behind me. "They probably got stuff for business." He said simply like it was nothing. To him it's nothing, he's been doing it for years. But when someone like me hears his job, I cringe.
I mean, he kills people. Not all the time but certain people he does kill, is done for money. But he's in like a gang. What do you expect? We both heard the door giggling behind us. We turned around and saw Alex, Ben and Andrew walk in. They didn't have anything with them, at least it didn't look like it. "Jason, we have to talk." Alex said in a serious tone. "Scarlett, can you go upstairs and wait?" He said in a polite tone. I nodded and walked upstairs but stayed close so I could hear.
"Jason. We have serious shit on our hands. I paid Luke a little visit." "Why the hell are you going to Northsiders? We don't need anything to do with them!" Jason bellowed. "Yeah! We don't. But you do! You still owe him fourteen grand! Fourteen fucking thousand dollars." Alex growled. Jason scoffed. "I've had the fourteen grand for months now. They could've come and got it by now but they're too much of dumb fucks to come." He continued.
"So I don't have a problem keeping it." Alex sighed. "You are something else. You better give them the money soon though. Please." He begged in a serious tone. "Whatever." Jason snapped. Fourteen thousand huh?
That's a lot of dough.
