As we walked around, Jason had his hood up and sunglasses on. He always said he wanted to be safe when walking around big parts of Vegas. Even though he hadn't done anything (that the police knew if anyways) he always wanted to play it safe. "So, where are we heading to?" I asked, breaking the short silence.
"Wherever you wanna. You decide today." He smiled. "But what if I choose something you don't wanna do?" I smirked. "Then I won't do it. Simple." He said, also smirking. "Pssh, whatever. In dont need you." I joked. He gasped dramatically. "Baby no, I need you though." He said trying not to laugh. I playfully rolled my eyes and walked around with Jason. We didn't really do anything, just walked around and talked. We walked into several stores with a few people looking at Jason. I felt bad for him. Supposedly, the last time he did something the police knew about, it was around almost 2 years ago.
Sure, I get where he's coming from, with him wanting to be safe and all. But 2 years. I would think the police would stop looking for him by now. When we were in one of the stores, I pulled Jason behind a high rack of stuff. "Woah, what are you doing?" He chuckled. "Can you do something for me?" I asked anxiously. "Sure? What is it?" I didn't say anything. I pulled off his glasses and pulled his hood down. Which left him in a snapback and his perfect hazel honey brown eyes were shining in the light. He reached for his glasses that were held in my hand. I pulled my hand back and placed a hand on his hard chest preventing him from grabbing them. "Scar, come on." "Nope. Nothing will happen. You haven't done anything they know of, so why would the cops come and get you?" I said intelligently.
He looked down with a look of thought placed on his face. I smirked, knowing I had beat him out. "So...will you walk out without the cover up crap on?" I smiled innocently. He paused for a moment thinking, and then sighed. "Yes. But only for you!" He whined. I smiled widely, knowing he listened to me. "Good Jason." I teased. He rolled his eyes. I grabbed his hand and walked out with him. As predicted, people glanced. But they didn't stare. They actually didn't seem to have a problem. That made me even more happy. Jason looked like weight was lifted off of his shoulders.
He would always seem scared. Yeah I know that sounds weird. Jason Carter McCann scared. But everyone gets scared and that's honestly what I thought he was when he'd go out in public! But the only thing I care about is that he's gotten over it. As I walked around, I noticed a whole group of girls walking towards us. Maybe just three or four. I don't really know why, but a wave of jealousy washed over me when I saw them eyeing Jason. Well, he is my boyfriend now. So it's normal to be jealous right? A tall blonde with crystal blue eyes looked Jason in the eyes and winked. I felt my face grow red growing angry. As they all walked away, I turned around and stared at the blondie walking away, my eyes burning right into the back of her head. Jason tugged onto my hand to grab my attention. I turned at him, my eyes still glaring. "Hey, don't worry about that. I have you." He smiled and kissed my cheek. I felt my cheeks flush into a rosy pink color.
He grinned at my response. "Should we start heading back to the house?" He asked me. I nodded. "Sure. It's getting kinda hot." I said tugging at the collar of my shirt. He just chuckled and walked in the direction of the house. As we walked through the front door, the air conditioning was cold, making me feel relieved. It was getting really really hot outside. I thought I was going to pass out. I kicked off my shoes and walked into the front room, sitting on the couch. Before Jason could sit down, I quickly spoke. "Can you get me some food babe?" I asked turning on the tv. He sighed. "Yeah, I'll be right back." He said and turned around walking into the kitchen. I flipped the channels and there was nothing really to watch. I left it on basketball for Jason.
I knew how much he loved it. I studied my nails as Jason handed me a bowl of popcorn. "Ooh, thank you." I smiled. He nodded and sat down. Once he saw basketball was on the tv, he shut up and his eyes stared at the tv with his eyes enlarged. Pretty soon without even knowing, his hands reached for the bowl and took it from me. I glared at him. "You're unbelievable." I said getting off the couch. I walked into the kitchen, grabbing the popcorn from the cabinet. I set it down on the counter and opened the second cabinet. I stood on the tips of my toes trying to reach a bowl. I grabbed it by the ends of my fingers and quickly dropped it, sending it breaking all over the ground from the impact of the floor.
I yelped when I heard the loud noise. As soon as I heard the crash, I felt my body go almost into a lockdown. It reminded me of the bullets going on the one night Jason saved me. I felt the warm liquid drip down my hand and onto the floor, not even bothering to clean the bleeding wound. I felt warm salty tears build up in the rims of my eyes, quickly spilling down my face. The trauma was kicking in. Jason quickly ran into the kitchen with an alarmed look on his face.
"Scarlett, w-what happened?" He said, his eyes widening at my hand. He ignored the glass on the ground and kicked it to the side. "I was g-grabbing a bowl a-and it made a loud noise," was all I said. "Come on. Let's go get you cleaned up." He said picking me up bridal style upstairs to the bathroom.
