"Scarlett? Sweetie are you awake?" My eyes shot open at the sound of my mom's voice outside the door. I looked behind me and saw Jason shirtless. "Jason, get on the floor?" "Why?" He groaned. "Scarlett." My mom's voice called out again. "Shh. That's why." I scowled. He groaned and took one of the pillows placing it on the floor, him continuing to sleep.

I scoffed, rolling my eyes. I got out of bed and walked to the door opening it. "Yes mom?" "We were making breakfast and wanted you to join us." She smiled. "Oh um, yeah. I'll be down in a bit." I smiled. She nodded and walked back downstairs. I closed the door and sighed.

"Jason babe, do you want me to bring you up anything?" "I don't care. Anything you want." He said, clearly half asleep. I bent down and kissed his cheek, then walking downstairs where everyone was. There was a whole bunch of breakfast food on the island in the kitchen and everyone was in the living room on the couches.

I looked around me to see if anyone was around me. I quietly grabbed two plates and filled both with food. My dad came in to refill his coffee mug. "What's with the two plates?" He asked raising an eyebrow at me. "Oh I'm just really...hungry. And I thought instead of making two stops to just get two plates." I said thinking of something off the top of my head. He nodded hesitantly. He walked back into the living room and as I quickly as I could, I ran upstairs with both plates.

I walked into my room and closed the door behind me. I saw the bathroom light on with the door open. I sighed and set the plates on one of the end tables and saw Jason cleaning something on his side by his rib. "Jason what are you doing?" I asked as I stepped closer to him. "Oh it's uh nothing." "Jason.." I looked over and saw a big gash. "Jason what the hell is that?" "Babe it's nothing alright. It's not a big deal." "Yes it is! You're bleeding!"

He sighed. "Why did you go to them?" I glared at him, with my arms crossed over my chest. "What do you mean?" "Don't play dumb with me. Why'd you go to The Northsiders?" "It's just business." "It's always business. That's always the excuse."

I walked back into my room and grabbed my plate. I opened the door about to walk downstairs. "You're plates on the table, asshole." I growled.

~Later~

I slid on a pair of flip flops as I walked out the door, about to take a short walk on the beach. It was empty and abandoned like it always was at this time. I walked and sat right by the shore just enough so the water barely brushed against my toes.

I saw a boy about my age in the distance. I continued to look at the calm blue waves in front of me. I noticed from the corner of my eye, the boy getting closer. I held my breath hoping Jason wouldn't be looking for me. "Hey," he smiled down at me. "Hi." "What's a beautiful girl like you doing here all alone?" "My boyfriend is kind of being a jerk and I just needed some time alone." I said.

"Well he isn't a very good boyfriend if he's being a jerk to someone like you. I'm Nick." He grinned. I faked a smile, nodding. "Scarlett." What part of the word 'alone' does this guy nod understand? "Hey!" An all too familiar voice called out.

"Oh my god." I groaned. I stood up and saw Jason who didn't look too happy. "What the hell do you think you're doing with my girlfriend?" Nick looked frightened, he definitely knew who Jason was. Hell, everyone does. "S-She was just alone and I thought-" Jason cut him off.

"I could fucking care less what you thought. You don't talk to my girlfriend." "Well she's the one who said you were acting like a damn jerk!" Nick blurted back. Jason then looked at me and sighed. "Look, just don't come near my girlfriend or you're dead." Nick quickly walked away.

Jason came towards me with a certain look in his eyes. I was about to say something but his lips cut me off. His hands gripped onto my hips while my arms found their way around his neck. "I'm sorry Scar. I know sometimes I put my business before you and I regret that. I really do."

I smiled at him and pecked his lips again. "It's okay Jason. I know you have to do what you gotta do. I'm sorry for calling you a jerk and an asshole. I love you." I smiled big.

He chuckled at me. "I love you too. Now lets start heading back." He grabbed my hand and our fingers interlocked with each others as we walked back to the house.
