*Jason's POV*
Me and Scarlett walked back to the house side by side. It was starting to get hotter and hotter outside. Once we reached the house, I allowed her to step inside first. I looked at the guys and nodded my head signaling them that I had to tell them something. I was going to tell them about how I ran into Luke back at the bowling area place. Scarlett looked at me.
"I'll go upstairs and let you guys talk...again." She huffed, jogging up the stairs. Before I could say anything she already shut the door to my room. I sighed and turned to the guys. "So what do you have to tell us this time?" Alex taunted. "I ran into Luke Ryan." Zak's eyes widened. "What?" "I didn't stutter." I glared. "Did he say anything?" He asked ignoring my comment.
"He asked about the money. He fought me, but of course I won. But only because Scarlett pulled me off of him." I opened my mouth to finish but Zak stopped me. "Wait. So did Luke see Scarlett?" "Obviously! He thought she was my personal 'pleaser'." I said quoting the word 'pleaser'. "And he told me that this wasn't the last of him that'd I'd see." Zak sighed.
"Jesus Jason. Why do you get yourself into these things!" He shouted more then asked. "Hey I didn't expect him to be anywhere near us! I didn't know exactly where he was cruising. He just happened to be there!" I defended. "Okay. I understand that part. But just please be careful where and what you do around people. You never know if they're secretly working for the Northsiders. Luke seems like the kind of person to do that. So be careful and keep certain things on the down low." Zak stated.
I sighed and nodded. "I will, I will," I said waving a hand. He nodded. "Good, now go up to your little crush." He smirked. "I don't like her!" I whined. The guys gave me a sarcastic look. I rolled my eyes and walked upstairs into my room. I saw Scarlett looking bothersome. I sat next to her on the edge of the bed. "What's up?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"My mom found out that I wasn't at Ashley's." She sighed. "Ashley's?" "My friend Ashley. I told my mom I was going to be there when I was really here. My mom somehow found out that I wasn't there." I nodded understandingly. "I don't wanna go home." She pouted.
"Y-You could stay here if you'd like?" I nervously asked.
She looked over at me. "No. You don't have to do that." "It's fine! Really." I assured her. "Well, okay." She smiled. I grinned and looked at the time. It was only 6:30. "Let's watch a movie." I smiled. "A movie?" She repeated. I nodded. "Don't you watch movies?" I chuckled.
I grabbed the remote and turned on the tv. I flipped through the channels searching for anything before finding a movie. "You can go pick a movie if you want." I said pointing to the movies in a rack. She slid off the bed and searched for a movie. She put it in the tv and I set it up. She came back and took off her jacket she was wearing. Underneath was a thin strapped tank top.
I didn't even know what movie was playing and I honestly didn't care. I found myself playing with Scarlett's beautiful chocolate brown locks. She giggled at my actions. About an hour or so later Scarlett was sound asleep next to me. It wasn't even eight o'clock yet. I think the sun got to her. I slowly and quietly slid off of the bed and downstairs.
The guys were all on their phones texting. "Is she leaving yet?" Zak asked. "Uhh, not really." "What do you mean not really?" "Well her mom figured out she was coming somewhere else which is here when she said she was going to her friends house," I stated. He nodded. "Okay, and??" "I told her she could stay here over night." I shrugged. Zak smirked at me. "Aw little Jason likes a girl."
"Shut the hell up." I spat. He rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Anyways. Onto serious business. What if Luke thinks of a way to have you give him the money?" He asked. "Where'd you get that random idea from?" I asked. "We were just thinking about this whole thing and that popped into play." "I say this enough. We'll just have to wait and find out." I turned around and headed up the stairs.
I didn't need to hear anymore of their shit. I quietly walked into the room and pulled my shirt off my torso. I laid next to Scarlett as she slept peacefully next to me. Her breathing was quiet and even. She turned around and wrapped an arm around my waist and cuddled into my bare chest. I looked down at her and she smiled in her sleep. I smiled down at her.
She looked so innocent when she slept but then there's days where you don't want to Mess with her. I rested my hand on her hip and lightly traced imaginary circles. I closed my eyes in hopes that nothing serious would go down between the Northsiders and us.
