I walked through the front door and the smell of pasta filled the house. I turned to Jason. "Hope you like pasta." I grinned. "Love." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes jokingly and walked into the kitchen where my mom was cooking. "Hey guys," she smiled with that same smile. "Just take a seat, it'll be ready soon."

"That was really good." Jason said in disbelief as we walked up the stairs. I laughed at him. "Jeez, you act like you've never ate before." "Well, we don't exactly make anything." He said acting as of I knew. "Well excuse me." "You're excused." He smirked. "Shut up." He chuckled as I opened the door to my room. I jumped on the bed and snuggled into my pillow. "I missed my bed so much." "It was only two or three days." "But my bed is so much better then anyone else's." I smiled. He rolled his eyes playfully and sat down next to me. His fingers found his way to the ends of my hair playing with it like he did the last time. "Can I tell you something?" Jason started. "Anything." I looked up at him. "Well, I..." He stopped as his face grew red. "What?" I giggled. "I like you. A lot." He smiled. Did Jason just admit he liked me? "I like you too Jason." I honestly said, smiling. "Really?" He asked happily. I nodded. He smiled and kissed the top of my head. I leaned onto his chest and slowly fell into a deep sleep with the thought of me and him.

*Jason's POV*

The sun from Scarlett's windows came shining into her room. I squinted and let my eyes adjust. I heard what I thought was my phone buzz on the nightstand but it was really Scarlett's. I leaned over just to read the name but it said 'unknown number'. I looked down at her to make sure she was asleep. I unlocked it and read the message.

'McCann may have saved you this time. But next time I'm not giving him OR you a warning. You'll die and no one will have to know.'

My eyes grew black with anger. Luke just doesn't stop does he. I looked next to me at Scarlett sleeping peacefully. I can't put her through anymore danger that I already have. I slowly slid out of her bed and slipped my shoes back on, along with my shirt that I took off before falling to sleep. I looked at the time on my phone. 7:30am. It's still early. No ones awake. I quietly walked down the stairs and opened the front door without making a sound, walking back to the house as fast as I possibly could without anyone noticing me.

*Scarlett's POV*

The sound of my alarm filled my ears. Why did I even leave it on? "Jason, can you turn the alarm off?" I asked with my face in the pillow. It was still going. "Jason I'm serious!" Nothing. I reached over to hit him lightly to wake him up but there was no one there. I lifted my head up and saw no body laying there. Just the indentation from his body laying there. I reached over turning it off and stood there in confusion. Where'd he go? His shirt was gone along with his phone and shoes. I ran downstairs to my mom cooking in the kitchen. "Is Jason still sleeping?" "No, he's not up there. Did you see him leave or anything? Is he down here?" She looked at me confused. "No I didn't." I thought for a moment. Maybe he went back to the house. "Can I borrow the car for an hour or so?" "Sure. What do you need it for?" I think I know where Jason is." I said grabbing the keys. I walked out the front door and hopped in the car. I brought the engine to life, turning it around to Jason's.

As soon as I pulled into the driveway, I hopped out of the car not even shutting the car door all the way. I knocked on the door waiting for someone to answer. The door opened to Zak. "Do you know where..." "He's upstairs in his room." He finished. I smiled, "Thanks." He nodded and let me in. I walked up the stairs and stood in his doorway. He was laying on his stomach playing on his phone. "What the hell Jason?" I said. He got up and turned around to look at me. "You stay the night, tell me you like me, then run off without me knowing?" He looked down. "So gentlemen like." I scoffed. "Listen here, you little bitch. You don't know me. You don't know my story. You don't know why I ran off." Jason snarled at me. I was taken back. But I didn't care. "Really you're going to call your only friend a bitch. Wow, that's low." I taunted.

"Just leave. You don't need to be anywhere near me. All I'll ever do is bring more trouble in your life. No one cares." He said calming down. I breathed in deeply carefully choosing my next set of words. "I care." He turned around to look at me. "What?" He said in disbelief. "I said I care Jason! I care about you! There's days where I think when you're doing the things you do, that I'll loose you. That day at the hospital when I had a panic attack, I had a nightmare. A nightmare that I lost you and you left me. I was scared it was real. It was so real, Jason! And when they took me. The only thing I thought about was you! And how I hoped they wouldn't hurt you!" Jason immediately shut up and held me in his arms. It took me a minute to realize I was crying. Badly. All the memories from that night and at the hospital. "I care about you too. Believe me, I do." He said, me still in his arms.
