CHAPTER 12 ~ Brooke's POV

After spending the afternoon together yesterday I feel like I know Zach so much better than I did before. For example I know that his zodiac sign is Aquarius and he loves to read. These types of things I would never have known if you had asked me yesterday.

"What's this?" Ella asks, grabbing another note from my admirer out of my locker.

"Oooohhh how nice. They like you. You're cute apparently" Ella tells me after reading the note I found in my locker this morning.

"Yeah, not that I believe them but whatever. I've been getting these notes every day since you first saw the note" I fill Ella in and she nods.

"Well Zach definitely isn't one to give up" Ella comments.

"I thought you thought it was Kai" I say to Ella who looks as though she is in deep thought.

"Well I thought it over. The notes being from Kai is just a stupid theory which has so many flaws that it's not funny. Like how is he supposed to be getting the notes into your locker every day and I highly doubt that anyone is helping him get the note to you? And on top of that it's been what, like a week and you've been getting these notes daily. That means he would have to be getting here and putting the notes in your locker after the gates open but before people arrive which is quite early. Also, if he is sneaking into school to get the notes to you then he is technically trespassing" Ella rambles on and on. If she has something to talk about, trust me, Ella can talk for hours about it. She's quite the conversationalist, really. "And although Kai is nice and all I don't think he is the type to write romantic and cute notes for a girl."

I cut her off from rambling on again "Okay, okay. I get it. It's not Kai. I never thought it was but anyway."

"Who do you think it is? Zach is the obvious option but it might not be him" Ella tells me and I agree.

"I currently think that it's most likely Zach but I'm not sure. Honestly, I don't feel like this is real. I feel like someone is just writing these as a joke" I express my thoughts but they are instantly denied by Ella.

"I disagree. You're a gorgeous girl, Brooke. It doesn't surprise me that you have an admirer. Any guy would be lucky even have your attention so it's not surprising that someone is writing you these notes."

"I still disagree but thank you. That was a lovely thing to say, Ella."

"Any time babe. Ily xx" she jokes, both of us bursting out into laughter.

"Bye Brooke. Love you" Ella says over her shoulder as she starts to walk away to class.

I grab my books and head over to Zach's locker.

"Hey, Brooke" Zach beams at me.

"Good morning to you."

"Ready for geography? I really don't want to go to class, it's so boring" Zach complains.

"Well that's a shame. Let's go now otherwise we'll be late" I coax.

"Must we?" he asks whilst frowning.

"We must."

Zach signs in defeat walks beside me towards geography class. Walking besides him is so distracting. His hands are huge but soft and, as cliché as this sounds, his hands fit perfectly into mine.

It's not until right now that I realise that I am frozen, unmoving from this place on the ground in front of the classroom. Zach looks back at me puzzled.
