CHAPTER 17 ~ Zach's POV

"We're going out tonight. Be at mine around 8," Ace says through the phone.

"Cool," I reply and hang up the phone. Its 7:30 now so I need to get ready and then leave to make it to Ace's around 8.

I grab my black jeans and a white V-neck and change into them. Once dressed I grab something to eat because what are the chances of me eating when we go out? Not very likely if we go to a club which we probably will.

After quickly eating I go to tell Mum and Dad that I'm going out. It's not like they will say no I can't go out but I just need to tell them where I will be so they don't get worried. They tend to get worried a lot.

I saunter up the stairs and knock on Mum and Dad's bedroom door, hearing a response almost instantly.

"Come in," Dad says from the other side of the door. I walk in to see Mum and Dad lying down. Mum's head buried in Dad's chest with Dad's arms around her.

"You mother is feeling sick," Dad explains and I nod.

"I'm going out with Ace and the guys," I tell him and he looks slightly worried. See, told you they get worried a lot.

"You know if something's wrong you can talk to me," he says looking the most serious I have ever seen him.

"Of course I know that," I tell him. What does that have to do with me going out?

"So what's wrong? You've never really been a kid who goes to parties, only when you are sad or something's on your mind that you want to forget."

"It's nothing. It's just a girl, that's all," I answer him and lean against the door frame.

"Well, she would be lucky to date you. So if she doesn't like you then it's her loss."

"Thanks Dad. I should probably get going but thank you for your help," I say, finishing our conversation and walking out of the room, closing the door.

I jog down the stairs and to the front door, getting on my way to Ace's. I open the windows and blast my music as I drive down my street.

When I pull into Ace's I instantly recognise Hayden, Sam and Axel's car, guess I'm one of the last few here. I saunter through the front door, which Ace has left open, and into the lounge room where everyone is sitting.

"Took your time Zach," Sam says, trying to make it look like it's a joke but I know it's not.

"I had things to take care of Sam," I snap at him and sit down on the opposite couch to him.

"Does anyone want anything to eat or drink?" Marie, Ace's mum, asks as she strolls into the lounge room.

"No thank you," everyone but Sam says. Sam just ignores Marie until she leaves the room. What a jerk. Why am I friends with him again?

"Let's go," Ace says and we all stand up and make our way to the club which is just a couple of blocks away. I don't know how we plan on getting home, we will probably walk but I have no clue how I will get from there to home. Guess I'll have to sort something out. I could always not drink...nope, definitely not. Normally I wouldn't mind staying sober but not tonight. Tonight I have a lot to forget for a while.
