Song is "Never Be Like You" by Flume

Love doesn't make sense. You can't logic your way into or out of it. Love is totally nonsensical. But we have to keep doing it or else we're lost, and love is dead and humanity should just pack it in. Because love is the best thing we do - Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother

CHAPTER 24 ~ Brooke's POV
"This party is insane!" I yell over the booming music.
"I know," Ace replies, "Can you please go get me a drink?"
"Okay sure," I reply then wander over to where our group had kept our drinks, hidden in our car so that no one could spike our drinks or take them without our permission. We only arrived about 30 minutes ago so neither Ace nor I have had a drink yet. Once I get to the car I unlock it and climb into our car.
Chase went off somewhere, probably to talk to his cousin, whilst Hayden, Zach, Axel, Sam, Phoebe and Ella went off somewhere else. Once I've gotten Ace and I a drink I find my way back to where we were standing in the middle of the gigantic crowd. Before I can make it back I'm intercepted by some red headed girl.
"Who are you?" she asks me with disapproval clear in her voice.
"My friend's cousin invited us," I explain.
"What gives this 'Friend's cousin' the right to invite you?" she asks me. How rude does this girl wanna be?
"You do know that you don't have to be so rude to someone you just met, right?"
"Why would you say that?" the girl cries, like actually crying. Well this is strange. What should I do? I think she's drunk, I can smell the stench of alcohol on her.
"Are you...um....are you okay?" I ask her in my best efforts to comfort her but she immediately shuts down my attempts by shoving me away.
"Don't touch me," she growls at me.
"I was just trying to be nice," I explain but she just shoves me again.
I turn to walk away but the girl grabs my shoulder and yanks me back with full force.
"Don't walk away when a conversation isn't finished," she barks back at me. I think it's best if I just ignore her. I, once again, turn around and walk away. Next thing I know I'm tripping over the girls foot which she purposely stuck out to trip me, causing me to hurt my ankle. And let me tell you, it hurt like hell. The girl struts off, more like stumbles, whilst I am on the ground clutching my ankle which is killing me. I grab one of the cool drinks and place it on my ankle to numb the pain a little but it does nothing. I feel so helpless. Sitting here alone with my sore ankle. I stand up and try to walk back to the car, limping whilst I walk. Suddenly another person rushes past me, making me fall again. I plant my hands onto the sand and push myself up again. I then continue to walk, ever so slowly, back to the car. I manage to get closer to the car but before I could walk there myself I'm swept up into someone's arms. I don't even have to look up at him to know who it is. I place my arms around his neck and he walks me to the car. Can someone say repeat of Ash's 14th birthday party?
"Why do you always have to do this?" I ask him once he has placed me into the back seat of the car.
"Because I care, Brooke. I told you this and I'll tell you again and again if I have to," he answers me with a sincere look in his eyes.
