CHAPTER 20 ~ Brooke's POV

"So I was thinking that you, Ash and I could hang out tomorrow night," I suggest to Phoebe. Her face contorts and a look of anger, annoyance and disappointment crossed over her features at my suggestion.

"No," she rejects the idea with lightning speed.

"Oh, and why not?" I question.

"I know what you are planning. I've got you all figured out. You want to organise everything and then bail out the last minute so Asher and I are forced to go out. Alone. Not happening."

Wow. How did she know? She really is a smart one. I just stand still in the same position, stunned at her quick critical thinking.

"Yeah, just as I thought," Phoebe says, looking smug because she was right and my silence confirmed it.

"Okay so, no hanging out then. I'll just have to spend another Friday alone in bed watching movies," I say to her, not meaning to sound annoyed.

Just as Phoebe opens her mouth to respond the shrill of the bell ends our conversation.

"Well, I'll see you later," I say, heading off to my last class of the day.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow. At school. Definitely not out because even if that was planned I wouldn't see you."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," I reply turning around and moving to my class.

...

"So from looking at the map here what becomes obvious? What is this map showing?" my geography teachers asks and I tune out. It's not like I care that much. I only care enough to know the answer.

I purposely sat in between two random people so that I wouldn't have to sit anywhere near Zach. It's awkward enough now that we aren't on friendly terms but I wouldn't even know what to say to him after what he did the other day. He covered my whole door in quotes and notes which is actually really cute because he put quotes which I know he loves and the notes made it personal which was amazing of him to do. Don't get me wrong I'm still furious but that was so sweet. I asked mum and dad how he got inside but they just said they didn't know which is slightly creepy and confusing. But I guess he could have asked Ash where my spare key is left. I'll need to ask him about that.

On a completely different note, I saw Kai yesterday night and it was so awkward. We exchanged greetings and we talked for a bit but it was one of the most awkward conversations I have ever had. But I did say I would meet up with him some time, he said he would message me with when and where. That conversation was almost unbearable so I am sure this meeting will be worse.

I raise my hand so the teacher will call on me and when she does I ask to go to the bathroom. She allowed it and I left the room. The bathrooms are located to the left and around the corner then down the hall. It's not as far as it sounds, to be honest. Once I enter the door I walk up to the mirror and fix up my now messy hair and then put a tiny bit of lip balm on my dry, chapped lips. I then leave the bathroom and walk back down to class.

"So, what did you think?" a guy asks someone, assuming they aren't talking to me I keep walking. I guess I assumed wrong because someone tugs on my arm, turning me around and into his chest. I look up and see the beautiful face that unfortunately has made me very angry of late.
