I may be able to speak the languages of men and even of angels but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move mountains - but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may give away everything I have, and even give up my body to be burnt - but  if I have no love, this does me no good. - 1 Corinthians 13: 1-4

CHAPTER 28 ~ Brooke's POV

"If you don't buy this then I will have no choice other than to buy it for you and force you to wear it," Ella says as I stare at the black skirt in front of us which is hanging on the sale rack, "It's on sale too. How could you possibly say no?"

"Easily. Watch and learn. No," I say as I walk off to scan the other racks.

Ella basically kidnapped me after school today and forced me to go shopping with her to find myself an outfit for Zach and I's date. I was very reluctant, like really reluctant, but as always Ella persuaded me. But that doesn't mean I have to enjoy this and it definitely doesn't mean I have to buy anything.

"But you have to get it! It's so pretty and would totally suit you. It's fate, Brooke," Ella argues but I wont be agreeing to her whims this time. Not today.

"It's totally impractical. You and I both know that I'm not a huge skirt fan. If you're going to try and persuade me to buy something then you would've been better off showing me a dress," I inform her but, if her face is any indication, she isn't letting this go.

"Brooke! Get out of your comfort zone, try something new!"

"Ella! I like the way I dress and I'm not changing that for a date, I'm not changing myself for a guy. And besides, Zach likes me the way I am," I argue and her expression melts a little.

"You know how much I want you to buy this skirt but you're not going to listen to what I say, are you?" Ella says, her arguments crumbling before her.

"I'm not saying I wont buy the skirt, all I'm saying is that I wont wear it on my date tomorrow," I cave into her desires and pick up the skirt.

"But you'll buy it?" she asks me, excitement written all over her face.

"I guess I can find some time to wear it," I sigh and walk up to the cash register.

"That'll be 20 dollars thankyou," the lady behind the counter says. I fish through my bag to find my wallet before pulling out the sufficient amount of money.

"Here you go," I say to the lady as I hand over the money.

"Would you like a bag for this?" she asks and I sake my head. The girl then proceeds to talk, "I love your watch by the way."

"Thank you," I say and take the skirt out of her hands and put it into my bag.

"Anytime. Thankyou for shopping at Sarah's Boutique, we hope to see you again," the lady says as Ella and I walk towards the doors.

"I have a good feeling," Ella says all of a sudden.

"About what?"

"Everything. I think that things are going to work out well for all of us," she says to me as we make our way home.

"Well I have a good feeling about tomorrow. I'm so excited, Ella. I seriously can't even explain it. I've been waiting for this for weeks but nothing ever worked in our favour but it finally has. For once Zach and I both know where we stand with one another. It's such a breath of fresh air, a relief. All of our misunderstandings long gone."
