CHAPTER 4 ~ Brooke's POV

He ran away. Why? I would be lying if I said I didn't care. I've been thinking a lot recently and I am so confused. All I know is that I really like Zach, unexpected I know, and that he says really sweet things but then he goes and does things like he just did. He just runs away. He is so confusing. Can't he just be straightforward and tell me what he is thinking?

"I'll get it" Ash yells out after he hears someone knock on the front door.

"Okay" I yell back to him. Too distracted to even get off the couch and go see who's at the door.

"What the hell was that about man?" I hear Ash whisper-yelling

"I'll tell you later when we are alone" I hear Zach's voice.

After that I hear one pair of footsteps coming towards me. I guess Ash told Zach to leave or maybe he just left himself. Again. Someone clearing their throat brings me out of my thoughts. I look towards the door to see Zach standing there with his hands in his jean pockets.

"Um, hi" I greet him.

"Hey" he says and walks over to where I am sitting on the couch "I wanted to talk" he says nervously.

"What about?" I ask.

"Well... um... I don't really know what to say" he says scratching the back of his neck. I just sit there looking at him waiting for him to continue. He looks like he is about to say something, but quickly shrugs it off and says something different

"What's your favourite movie?" he asks looking genuinely interested

"I love Now You See Me" I tell him.

"Do you want to watch it?" He asks me.

"Seriously?" I ask. Is he joking? No one likes watching it with me anymore because I watch it too much.

"Of course! I haven't seen it, so sure" he says and I smile widely.

I go to put the DVD in the player and get the movie started. I then go to find Ash to see if he wants to watch the movie too, but to my surprise he is nowhere to be found. My phone then buzzes and I look to see that I have a message from Asher.

That smartass. I don't reply, instead I go back to the living room to watch the movie.

"Let's get this movie started" I say pumping my fist.

We sit on the couch together watching the movie until I decide to talk instead of finish the movie.

"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?" I ask him.

"Fiji. What about you?" he replies straight away.

"That's so cool, I would probably go to Canada" I tell him and he nods.

"If you could invent one superpower what would it be?" he asks me.

"The power to copy someone's power, but become better at that power" I decide.

"I would have the power of healing someone and once you healed them they have the power to heal others" he says putting thought into his answer.
