CHAPTER 8 ~ Brooke's POV
I didn't expect to find myself smiling on a Monday morning. Guess you can surprise yourself. Let me tell you, if it wasn't for a note I found in my locker, I would still be feeling down and just wanting to go home. I opened my locker and was surprised to find a white piece of paper folded up, sitting towards the front of my locker. I unfolded this note, curious as to what it could possibly be about.
You are beautiful, even when you don't realise it.
Is what the note read. Who would have given this to me? I have to admit that it was such a lovely thing to read, especially on a Monday when I just want to go home and I'm always in a bad mood.
I see Ella and Phoebe walk over to me just as I finish reading the note.
"What's that?" Phoebe asks me pointing towards the note. I don't say anything, I just hand it over to them so they can read it themselves.
"It is definitely from Zach." Phoebe tells me just as Ella says,
"It's so from Kai." I don't know who to believe. I mean if Zach actually wanted my forgiveness then this sounds like something he would do but Ella said that she got him to back off so I don't think it's from Zach. As for Kai, how would he know which locker is mine? And I doubt he would have given the note to Chase to put in my locker because honestly I think Chase would prefer to do something like this for Zach not Kai.
Speaking of the two boys. I can't believe Zach. Who does he think he is? Punching Kai! I was just dancing with Kai, no big deal. Besides he lost the chance to be even the tiniest bit possessive after he ruined whatever we had. He is such an ass.
"I don't think it's either. But I think it's more likely to be Zach then Kai." I tell them and they nod but I can tell Ella doesn't agree. I think it's just because she doesn't like Zach, at all.
"Anyway, talk later, I have to get to class." I say and then we all part ways to get to class.
...
This morning's classes were so boring. It's now lunch and I'm sitting with Ella and Jack, waiting for Phoebe to get to the table.
I pick up a chip from my plate and start to eat. Both Ella and Jack start to eat also, Phoebe still hasn't arrived at the table. That's odd, she is normally first here.
"So I was thinking we could go to the mall today, what do you think?" I ask both Jack and Ella. Jack just grimaces at the idea.
"Sure." Says Ella.
"If you're going to shop then count me out. I couldn't think of anything worse." Jack comments. Fair enough. Jack has never liked the idea of shopping so asking him was pointless really.
"Alright, well I have English last so I might take longer to get back to my locker. So meet at my locker, yeah?" I plan. My English class is on the other side of the campus so it takes longer to get back to my locker so it's easiest if we all meet at my locker.
"Sounds like a plan." Ella says agreeing just as Phoebe sits down. She looks flustered. Like she just ran here.
"So what's going on?" Phoebe asks.
"We're going shopping after school today." I fill her in on our plans.
"Sounds fun." Phoebe comments and starts to eat her food.
We all talk for the rest of lunch until the bell rings and then we walk off to class.
Just as I'm about to fall asleep during class I'm woken back up by the P.A system. Saved by the bell, sort of. Not quite.
