Chapter 38
Power is a lot like time. It's a concept we have created and thrown into the world to take away the chaos and be more organized. And like time, the only reason it exist is because we allow it to. It is merely an idea. An idea people have fallen in love with. You cannot fall in love with the idea of something because once you do it will terminate every characteristic of you rotting you to the very core.
The worst thing you can do is fall in love with the idea of something. It's pointless to try and obtain this thing that is far out of reach. We often see people fighting over this secondary construct we have created. The idea of power changes people and once they get a taste they will stop at nothing to acquire it. It's a wasteful use of our time. We spend the seconds pushing others down in order to get ahead, but you can't measure the success of your life with the amount of power you have gained.
You're probably asking if time and power are both concepts then how come you never hear anyone say, "I love time." That's because death and time are working together and most people fear death. When someone is on their death bed it's rare to hear how elated they were when they betrayed this person, took that person for granted, were thrilled they placed more hatred into the world than necessary. We have become obsessed with this creation and are not looking at the important aspects of life. Spreading love, changing the lives of others, those are the ways to measure your life.
Someone once said, "A man who has truly lived is not afraid of death." We fear being forgotten. And being remembered for anything, including negativity, is better than being completely forgotten. I was never afraid of death. The chances of having a normal life were stripped away from us at a young age, but it never stopped me, and the road it led me down was road of fulfillment. The things I experienced in Amity, the people I met, laughs I shared, the freedom I stood up for, it made me happy. The Voyants completed a mission nearly impossible and that is what will be remembered of me. The time we have here is never enough so it's our job to make sure we use it in the most successful way possible.
Spread love, change lives, fight for things, stand up for your morals, fall in love, make mistakes, grow, prosper, find yourself, follow your Bliss, it's these things that will be left behind after you have left the awakening world. Don't strive for the idea of power. Because at the end, when our clock stops ticking, it is death that makes us all equal.
