"Hello." I said picking up the phone out of breath.
"I'm about ten away." Reginald said low and smooth.
"Okay." I said stopping.
"You ready or you need more time?" He asked.
"No, I'm good. Thanks." I told him looking in the mirror with only a half bra and panties.
"Alright, bye." He said and we hung up.
I have no clue what to wear! I mean I know what to wear, I just need a double assurance that I look good in it. I wish I can just call Karen right now and ask her, but knowing her she'd make it a bigger deal than what it is.
I decided on working with the weather. It was a little more form fitting than I expected but it will do.
I looked over myself in the mirror and fidgeted before hearing my phone ring again. I grabbed my shades and my clutch before picking up my phone.
"I'm coming." I said picking up my phone.
"Okay." He said and hung up.
After I debated on a sweater not, opting to not take one, I went on the porch to see him waiting on me.
He smiled. "Oh you need to use the bathroom?" I asked him.
"No." He chuckled fixing a strand of hair.
"Thanks, so why'd you come up here. I told you I was coming, did I take too long?" I asked.
"Relax, you didn't take long at all. I just wanted to come to the door and escort you to the car." He shrugged.
"Oh." I smiled. "Okay Mr. Chivalrous, thank you."
He laughed. "You're Welcome. You look nice."
"So do you." I said looking at his outfit. The blue button down and khakis look nice on him.
"So how did you like church?" I asked him after we began to drive.
"It was good. " he nodded.
"So are you gonna come back?" I asked him nervously.
"Yes, I am gonna come back."
"Are you gonna come back because I want you to or because of your relationship with God?" I asked him.
At this point, I feel a little more open to saying things to Reginald. We just aren't all the way there yet.
"I'm coming back because for one, I want to learn more about God. I need to understand it more before I go through with fully commuting myself to it."
"Okay, I can understand that." I nodded my head.
"I'm glad you do. Plus I kinda like you." He shrugged smirking.
I smiled his way teasingly. "Kinda? That's all?"
"Yup Kinda."
"I could have sworn it was more than just kinda."
"We both know that it's more than just that, but you aren't all the way ready so baby steps." He said.
"Yes baby steps, but you can still say you think I am a really dope girl." I smiled at him.
"I never denied you were dope." He said and stopped the car.
"Carnival?" I asked him nervously.
"Yeah, I figured it would be a place that we could hang out and have some fun. Get you to loosen up a bit." He smiled at me unbuckling his seat belt.
