"Babygirl you were amazing!" My father said and I nodded hugging him.
I felt the biggest urge to cry. A lot of fears, a lot of self doubt and a lot of self destruction has gone on through the past few years. But Lord I'm thankful for the growth. I'm tankful that you forgive and I'm thankful that you pulled the wool from my eyes.
"Thank you." I nodded and he kissed my forehead before he was called back out in the crowd to end the service.
I feel a great deal of weight was off of my chest but I know I have a long ways to go. I am not expecting any of the stuff I want to do to go easy, and for everything to be perfect but I'm putting it in God's hands and I am fully trusting him with every aspect of my life.
After the service, we all left together and met at an Italian restaurant.
"A'taya gave a word today!" My sister said as we sat down.
"Thanks." I nodded sitting down opposite of her.
"You're welcome. Baby I'm gonna sit by my sister." She said about to get up.
"I'm fine Karen. Sit with your man." I smiled at her.
"Okay." she nodded and I pulled my phone out of my Pocket book.
Reginald didn't make it here yet which to me is odd being that we all left at the same time.
"Hi, I am Jason and I'll be your waiter today. What can I get for you?" He asked and I looked up.
"Hi, can I have a Strawberry Lemonade."
"Sure thing beautiful." He nodded smiling and I looked down blushing.
"Thanks." I told him.
"You're Welcome. Again, Jason." He said putting his hand out for me to shake.
"A'taya." I nodded doing the same.
Rick cleared his throat.
"Oh, I apologize. What can I get for you two." He asked Rick and Karen.
"I'd like for you to give my sister your number." Karen said.
"Oh no, no. Thank you." I told him.
"What? Why not you're single. He's good looking and if I'm not mistaken he was flirting with you isn't that right Jason?" She asked
"Yes." He smiled. "I was."
"I heard her say she wasn't interested." Rick said.
"Is that true A'taya?" Karen asked looking between him and I.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm just focusing on one thing at a time." I said turning towards him.
He nodded. "No problem. I understand completely."
He walked away and the awkward tension that rained over our table.
"I can't believe you. He was cute!" Karen said.
"I'm really not interested." I told her.
She gave me a look sticking her tongue into her cheek with her arms folded and nodded. "Okay."
I tucked a piece of hair behind my hair and Karen got up excusing herself from the table to take the call that came in
I sat at the table with my hands in my lap. "So you know?" I asked him.
"Of course I know."
"Look-"
"It's fine. I won't say anything to your sister. I'll let you tell her when you're ready to."
