"I love you." Reginald said as he kissed my cheek.
"I love you too." I said smiling.
"You're beautiful." He told me rubbing his finger along my cheek.
"Thank you." I whispered. "Your hand isn't shaky anymore." I said.
He nodded pulling away from me.
"Reginald don't do that." I sighed.
"What A'taya?" He asked frustrated.
"Don't turn away from me when I bring it up." I said.
"Why must we talk about it? I don't understand." He stressed.
"Because it's apart of you. That's why we have to talk about it Reginald."
"It's not apart of me. "
"It is babe. It's not who you are but it is apart of your life, our life and we have to address it." I stressed to him.
"Well baby, not at this moment please. I'm trying to enjoy the beach with my beautiful girlfriend who just got back in town from work." He said and kissed my jaw.
After I professed my love to Reginald I ended up having to do a photo shoot in Texas for the artist from my church and I ended up being gone for two weeks because I got a few more gigs while down there.
Now, Reginald and I are at the beach. It's good for his heart that he keeps active which explains why he is always in the gym but he decided that because it was warm outside and I am here, instead of the gym to get a little romantic which I appreciate greatly.
"Alright." I sighed. "You've got it."
"Thank you, now what are you cooking for me when we get in the house?" He smirked.
"I'm not making you nothing." I said jokingly.
"For real babe?" He asked.
"Mmhm, I just traveled home from Texas, I'm jet lagged."
"Please babe?" He asked and I sighed.
"Alright. What you want?" I asked him.
"I want some fried chicken, white rice and collard greens." He smiled.
"Now you know that isn't going to happen." I said
"Why?" He asked.
"Because, Dr. Payne told me that you are on a diet, so you can go for testing in two weeks and hopefully pass to get the transplant." I said referring to his doctor, and father.
"Ugh babe." He rolled his eyes.
"Do not start." I laughed.
"You can't fry no chicken babe? For real?" He asked.
"Yes for real. Your mama isn't gonna whoop me for you wanting it." I said to him.
"She ain't gon whip you." He said
"But babe, I promised. How about some Salmon, that's good for your heart and Asparagus that's good for your heart and kidneys" I said.
"I don't want that babe."
"I don't want to see you sick again. Look babe, I'll fix it up really nice for you boo." I said facing him and hugging him.
"Alright, I want dessert though." He said.
"Fruit, that's do-able." I .
"Iont want that." He whined
"Reginald, seriously?" I asked
