Andrea

A few days later

Dear Diary,

On two different occasion now , mine and Tyler's lips had been centimeters away from each other, so close to touching and moulding together. A distraction always gets in the way of it. Is it fate that something stops us from kissing, or should we ignore the distractions keeping us apart?

I'm scared for the moment our lips do meet. I'm terrified if they do we will change for the worse. I could be wrong, we might change for the better. I have no idea anymore. I'm scared to take risks in case of jeopardizing anything. Tyler has been the best thing to happen to me for a while and I don't want to ruin anything.

I always ask myself If I should act upon my feelings for Tyler but that's way too big of a risk. What if he rejects me ? I know the way he acts around me he most likely wouldn't but there's still those negative voices in my head telling me it would be a bad idea.

Maybe I should wait for Tyler to? I'd much rather wait and have him instead of me. It would assure me that he actually liked me. If I did something first theres a chance that he might not like me back but he could possibly feel bad for me and said 'what the hell'. Tyler would never lead me on.

I guess that's it.

-Andrea.

I slam the Diary shut and put it under my bed along wih my pen once again.

I hear the doorbell ring. I debate whether getting up to answer, but I hear the door open and Laurie's signature "hi!"

"Hey Laurie." Tyler's sweet voice says.

"Come in, it's freezing!" I hear her say. I hop off my bed out of excitement, their small talk of 'how are yous' and stuff becoming loudly the closer I get.

"Hey Tyler." I smile, walking up to stand next to Laurie's side.

"Hey." He smiles widely at me.

"Follow me." I say ushering him towards my room.

"I have plans for us today." He announces, falling back on my bed.

"Tell me." I say, falling next to him.

"Frozen yogurt. Then a walk in the park."

"It's November.." I say in a duh tone.

"Oh well."

"Which park?" I wonder, looking over at him.

"Whichever one we happen to pass first." He smiles, standing once again, pulling me off the bed.

I grab my wallet and give it into my backpack along with several things I may need. With that we leave the room.

"Where are you kids heading off to?" Laurie asks, as she sits on the couch turning on the TV.

"Frozen yogurt then gonna play at the park!" She laughs at our childish antics. She's glad those are the kind of adventures rather than other teenagers who smoke and drink their young lives away.

"Well have fun you guys." She smiles. We thank her and leave the house after I pile on my winter gear.

We take the bus because to be honest it was too far to walk.

We reach the frozen yogurt place which was empty. Probably because its the middle of November and it would be snowing soon enough.

We grab a cup and go look at the array of flavours. I decide on plain old Dark chocolate. Tyler chooses Vanilla bean.
"Lame." I snicker.

"Lame." He imitates me, bringing his voice a few octaves higher.

We put on some toppings and we ended up loaded them on. After that we paid, then decided to sit at a 2 person table and munch on our frozen yogurt.

We make light conversation about plans for the week and weekend and about how Christmas is coming up.

"I love Christmas. Hands down my favorite holiday." I giggle, finishing up the last bit of my yogurt.

"I like Halloween. Christmas is 2nd obviously." Hr smile

"You're birthday is soon !" I exclaim, looking at him happily. He just shrugs and nods. "That's so exciting!" I tell him. He simply shrugs and nods.

"Guess so." He smiles at me.

We carry on eating and talking until we both mentally decide that it's time for a walk. We get up and leave putting our hats and jackets back on us. It was just below freezing but I didn't mind. He slipped his gloved hand into mine and with that we began our walk to 'whatever park we pass first.'

I clutch onto his hand as we walk down several sidewalks and roads

Then we finally reach a really nice park with a big field surrounded by a suburban neighborhood. I start running, dragging Tyler along to the park.

Most of the structures have frost on them. So I run over to the swings. This time, Tyler takes one next to me.

"I bet I can get higher than you in less time!" He challenges.

"What are you six?" He simply smirks at me. "You're on!" I yell, beginning to swing by legs back and fourth at an alarmingly fast rate.

The only thing I could hear was the light breeze and the echo of our laughter as we act like 6 year olds in this public park.

At this point we're both swinging as high as we can both go, I guess we had gone at the same rates.

And in that moment I felt a cold speck land on my nose. When I went to touch it, it felt like water. Is it raining? Way to ruin our fun.

I wait for a moment before telling Tyler we should leave soon because honestly I'm having too much fun and this rarely happens. We continue to swing and then I feel another speck and another.

Then one lands on my dark jeans, its a white speck, wait it was a snowflake!

As if on cue more snow starts to fall so you can see it without it having to land on a dark surface.

"Tyler! The first real snow!" I shout excitedly. Man I love snow so much, winter is probably tied with fall.

"Wow." He says shocked. I jump off my swing and spin around letting the small snowflakes blanket over me.

I couldn't contain the massive smile preoccupying my face. Tyler grabs my hand and spins me around, smiling at me more than the snow I think. He looks happy that I'm happy.

And I'm pretty sure it can only go up from here.
