Andrea

A month later; Christmas Day

At the beginning of the month, the very 1st of December was Tyler's birthday. I talked to his mom privately and we set up a surprise party for him. We invited a lot of his extended family and some friends from shool along with Josh and Ella of course. I don't think he suspected a thing. His mom got me to bring him out for lunch and stuff and then back to his house were everyone was. When everyone yelled "surprise!" He couldn't stop smiling at laughing. He hugged me first and whispered thank you as if he could tell I was partly behind this.

The rest of the month had been surprisingly good. Nothing terrible had gone wrong yet.

Today was Christmas. I was woken up at the brimming time of 8:00 a.m by Thomas manically jumping on my bed.

"Wake up Andy! It's Christmas!" He shouts, shaking my shoulders.

"I'm awake!" I yell. He smiled at me and jumped off my bed.

"Merry Christmas Thomas." I sigh sitting up in my bed.

"Merry Christmas! Be out of your room in 5 minutes so we can eat then open presents!" He says, running out of my room.

I tie my hair so it doesn't look messy because god knows my dad will be taking a bunch of pictures. Something he picked up on over the years.

I make myself look presentable before walking out of my room and into the kitchen.

"Merry Christmas!" My dad says, flipping some french toast on the pan in front of him.

"Merry Christmas." I mumble back, taking a seat on the island stool.

Laurie walks out from their room to us in the kitchen.

"Merry Christmas all!" She shouts happily, planting a kiss my on my forehead as well as Thomas' then on my dad's lips.

My dad finishes up breakfast and we all sit at the table together eating. Thomas scarfs down his food, he's ready for presents.

After breakfast we open up presents and my dad takes a bazillion pictures of us all, claiming to email them.

..

The next day on boxing day I was havig a small Christmas with Josh, Ella and Tyler. We were all going to Ella's house since her parents weren't home but they did say it was okay.

Me and Tyler bussed over around noon. Josh was already there, I'm pretty sure he slept there last night.

I adjusted my Christmas sweater under my jacket as we walked up to her front door. My bag at hand I rung the doorbell as Tyler juggled our gifts in his hands.

Ella opened the door, wearing a cute Christmas dress.

"Hey guys!" She smiles, stepping aside to let us through.

"Merry Christmas!" Tyler says. We take our shoes off. She helps us with the gifts and stuff we brought over.

Josh comes to greet us, pulling Tyler into a hug and then myself. Ella properly greets us and hugs us as well.

"What shall we get up to first?" I ask, as we all walk into the living room.

"Should we make the ginger bread house?" Ella wonders, looking at us all. We all nod, walking over to the dining room. He grabs a big box and unpacks it onto the table. We begin assembling the walls, eating icing as we do so. It takes us almost 40 minutes to keep the walls standing, we seriously considered using a glue gun to do so a few times.

We let them sit before adding the roof then decorating it, which means squirting the rest of the icing everywhere on it and covering it with all the candy packages and sprinkles. It would be an understatement to call it a mess to be honest. It looks like candy tornado went through it.

We laugh at our masterpiece and clean up the individual Candy pieces that fell along with the spots of icing and packaging.

Next we decide to open presents. Ella ends up getting a really cute but pricey necklace from Josh along with a hand made card that looks like a 5 year old made it. Tyler got her some guitar picks as she is learning to play and some band merchandise. I got her some shirts and scarves and all that girly stuff she wears.

Josh received some shirts, bracelets and a watch from Ella. The watch looked pretty expensive, probably makes up for the necklace he got her. Tyler got him some band shirts and CD's. I got him 2 sweater's with cool patterns and some CD's , different than from what Tyler got him.

Next Tyler opens his gifts. Ella gave him some band merchandise in return for what he gave her. Josh gave him the same, CD's and sweaters and shirts. When Tyler unwrapped my gift. His jaw dropped to the floor. In the box I handed him was a brand new Ukelele . I knew how old and broken his was and how he talked about waning a new one.

He tackled me in a hug and thanked me a bunch of times. I simply smile at him and shrug. "No big deal." I reply.

Then it was my turn. Josh had given me some sweaters as well and a new sketch book. Ella gave me some shirts and sweaters and scarves and a pair of earrings. Tyler got me some paints and some really nice paint brushes along with some bracelets.

Afer that, we decided to be the children that we know we are deep down inside and go out sledding. Ella was speaking of a hill behind her house that is apparently great for sledding.

We pulled on our jackets, gloves and mitts and grabbed some of the sleds she had in her garage. We made or  way to the back and just went at it. Josh was first. He held the sled in front of him and ran forward jumping on it and gliding it down ths hill at an alarming rate.

We all follow behind him and launch ourselves down the hill. We all burst out laughing at how fun and childish this is.

Tyler and I take a bigger sled and both sit on it. Josh and Ella push us down the hill, we pick up so much speed, and then we run into a snow fluffy snow bank. Josh and Ella do the same and we continue that for roughly an hour.

Afterwards we went inside, made so much damn hot cocoa and watched bunch of random festive movies. It was an enjoyable boxing day, if I do say so myself.
