Andrea
Wednesday
I wake up again with a smile on my face, again because of Tyler Joseph. That boy does wonders to my mind.
I end up falling out of bed though, onto the hard wood floors. I bang my head and groan loudly, guess I lost my footing. I pull myself off of the floor and make my way to the bathroom.
I brush my fingers through my hair and decide on leaving it down today. It wasn't too much of a mess that I had to put it up or anything.
I brush my teeth and put on a few coats of mascara. I guess that's all I need for today.
I lug my body back to my bedroom and shut the door after myself. I pull on a big navy blue hoodie and ripped black jeans. I pull on socks and my Doc Martens.
I spray a burst of perfume on my wrists and chest and leave my bedroom.
Laurie sat on a kitchen stool, eating her breakfast, texting away on her work phone. I wonder why she's still at home.
"What are you doing home?" I ask, popping a bagel into the toaster.
"Slept in, thought I'd go in later." She smiles. I nod my head and smile back. My bagel pop and I spread from cream cheese on it. I lean against the counter and start eating away.
"So, what's happening with you and Tyler?" She asks nonchalantly. I blush at the mention of him.
"He uh, asked me to be his girlfriend." I say shyly.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" She practically shouts, clearly excited.
"It hasn't come up!" I defend myself.
"When was this?" She wonders.
"Friday night. We were video calling and stuff.." I smile.
She finishes up her breakfast and places her plate in the sink before I finish mine. It takes me a while to eat bagels for some reason.
"In glad he makes you his happy Andrea. I love seeing you smile again." She admits. Her gaze looking into mine.
I just smile back not entirely knowing how to answer.
"Want a ride to school?" She asks. I nod my head. It is supposed to be freezing outside, might as well take up her offer.
"Yeah sure, thanks." I nod, grabbing my bag and following her out of the house. I get into the passenger side and she gets into the driver's. I put my bag on the ground in front of me and I look out the window. The snow has all either turned into ice it a grey dirty slush. It's a mix of both everywhere.
She drives slightly over the limit like any normal person would. Only a few over not much.
She goes a little quicker, noticing its nearing time school starts. "Sorry I just don't want you to be late."
"Don't worry." I assure her, my anxiety slowly rising as the cars speed does.
I feel the car lose its stability on the road and rather than it actually driving down the road, it begins gliding.
I hear Laurie curse under her breath, I bet I wasn't mean to hear the panic. She knows what I'm like in cars, she knows how anxious I get.
"What?" I ask panicked.
"Bit a patch of black ice." She mutters, trying to get a grip on the car bit it doesn't seem to work. She was going fast too, which was harder for her to get control.
The slight dip of the road causes the car to go faster. We were on a small hill.
Next thing I know we're plummeting down the road.
She deserves trying to gain control, until we finally smack into a huge hill of snow. My body jolts forward and a wave of unwanted nostalgia takes place in my brain.
"Fuck." I mumble under my breath, throwing myself into the back of my seat. If I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, my head would have smacked hard into the dashboard in front of me.
"Andrea oh, my god are you alright?" She asks, panic clear in my tone. I can tell by how shaky it sounds as well.
"I-i'm fine." I choke out, trying to hold in the tears that are threatening to spill. "Are y-you okay?" I ask back, looking over.
"I'm fine just worried about you. Should we go to the hospital or anything?"
"I'm fine L-Laurie. I swear. I just gotta get to school." I assure her, bringing breathing down to a slower pace.
The terrible image of my brothers face hitting the wheel replays over and over in my mind as our car jolted hard from the massive impact.
She lets our a big sigh and nods. "I'm sorry Andrea." She tels me, beginning to reverse ever so slowly out of the snow bank.
"Don't be, It wasn't your fault at all." I reply, still trying to not cry.
She slowly drives on the ice until there is no longer ice and just the paved road uder the rubbery tires.
We arrive at school, I thank her kindly and get out of the car. By now there aren't any more years threatening to fall, only the bad memories swimming through out my mind.
I walk through the doors with only a few moments to spare. Tyler leans against the locker next to mine.
I force a smile and approach my locker. "Hey." I say quietly, catching his attention. His pulls his eyes off his home screen and locks it, siding it into his pocket.
"Hey." He smiles, glancing between me and my locker. I begin to unlock it. "Is everything okay?" He asks suddenly.
"Yeah why?" I ask, taking my lock out of the locker loops and pulling the door open.
"Your eyes are sort of blood shot, ad your hands are shaking." He comments, glancing nervously at my hands.
"I uh.." I trail, then something in my locker catches my eye. His a small clothes pin, with writing on it.
I grab it. If reads "You have a new message.." In thin permanent marker on it. There the two ends open up, is a small envelope painted. I grasp it I mg hands and glance at Tyler who is grinning.
"Open it." He motions to it with a nod, smiling. I nod and press the opposite ends, opening it up.
A paper attached to the two open ends reads "Prom?" My eyes fly open, I completely forgot. In that moment the bell indicating first period is starting, but I could care less at the moment.
I let out a light gasp. I frantically nod my head and throw the clip back into my locker. I turn and throw my arms around his neck. "Yes Tyler! I'd love to go with you." I whisper happily into his ear.
He hugs me back tightly and pulls away. His eyes trail to my lips then back into my eyes, indicating he wants to kiss. He begins leaning down so I slightly lean up (not by much. He isn't thaaaat much taller than me) and out lips connect for the second time ever. Its weird, we haven't kissed since the first time we did.
The kiss gave me tingles just like the first one did. I felt my nerves getting my best of me, causing my legs to turn to jello, and my mind to lead to questionable places.
After a while of our lips molding together, we finally pull away, glad we're alone in the hallway.
"Come on, we're already late as it is." He mumbles. I grab my books in a flash and take his hand in mind, walking to the direction of our classes.
