Andrea

I leave my room to see my family all doing their own thing. Thomas reading a Dr. Suess book, my dad on his laptop doing some work moat likely and Laurie is just doing little things in the kitchen.

"I'm going to hangout with Tyler, Josh and Josh's girlfriend." I say, leaning against the wall behind me.

"Is it a double date?" Laurie asks, and I could practically hear the smirk in her words. Her back is turned to me but I could tell she's smirking to herself right now.

"Nope." I say simply, grimacing at her.

"Are you sure?" She asks.

"Yes."

"Isn't Tyler your boyfriend?" Thomas asks, averting his attention away from his book. Now all my family is looking at me, smirking at how embarrassed and red faced I'm getting.

"Oh my god, uh I'm just gonna leave.." I laugh awkwardly leaving the kitchen.

"Be safe and wear a jacket!" Dad calls.

"I will!" I say back, tugging on my jacket. I pull out my phone and text Tyler.

Me: ready, where shall I go?

Tyler: park near Josh's, remember we went there last week?

Me: yeah I'll be there in 15 :)

Tyler: looking forward to it :)

I smile and slide my phone into my jacket pocket and shove my hands inside to keep them all the more warm.

I walk down the sidewalk. I mean, I could have bussed but I'd rather walk just to mentally prepare myself for the day.

And finally I reach the park. I notice 3 figures sitting around on the play structures. I curiously walk over, enjoying my few moments I have left alone.

Tyler looks around, and his eyes finally land on me. A grin spreads across his face. He looks like he mumbled something to Josh and his girlfriend before hopping down from the play structure and making his way towards me.

I flash him a smile as he gets closer.

"Andrea!" He smiles, engulfing me in his arms. It really took me by surprise but soon enough I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. His rested around my waist.

Then we both pull away.

"Hi Tyler." I chuckle as he rests his hand on my upper arm.

"Come on." He grabs my hand and starts leading me over to the others.

Ther sits Josh wih his colourful mess of hair and with a gorgeous girl next to him, clutching his hand.

She has very wavy long brunette hair that cascades down her back and shoulders. She has these big hazel eyes, her make up making them pop even more. Her skin is slightly tan, sort of like Tyler's skin. The way she lovingly stares at Josh makes me want to have that with Tyler. Openly in love, you know?

We reach the structure they're at and climb up it. They were sitting in a box almost that was elevated from the ground with stairs attached to one end and a slide on the other.

Once we sit down, their conversation ends and they stare at us expectingly.

"Andrea, this is my girlfriend Ella. Ella, this is Andrea." Josh speaks. Motioning between the two of us.

"Oh come on Josh, I know Andrea. We have Biology together." She smiles at me.

She's Ella from bio, Josh's girlfriend. I do know her! Tyler never mentioned a name so I wasn't too sure who I'd be meeting.

Ella is all around kind and sweet. She is in the same, 'area' as me, Josh and Tyler's. By area I mean she isn't popular but she isn't totally at the bottom. She rests firmly in the middle she fits in with us just fine.

"Yeah." I say, nervously laughing afterwards. She gives me a kind honest smile. She can sense my nervousness but I can tell it isn't phasing her one bit. She doesn't mind, she isn't going to judge me.

"I really like your hair Andrea, are you a natural blonde?" She suddenly asks.

"Yeah I am, thank you. I really like your hair. It it usually wavy like that?" I ask back, surprising myself. I subconsciously twirl my hair in my fingers, looking at her.

"It usually is, thank you." I glance at Tyler and Josh to see their faces light up. Probably at the fact at how good Ella and I are getting along.

I can see me and her becoming actual friends to be honest. We talk in biology and help each other out with questions if we ever get stuck on one.

We all get engrossed into conversations that mostly revolves around he topics we like such as bands or instruments and our families. I hold back by saying anything about my family hell Tyler and Josh don't even know why my mom and dad aren't together and that I ever had an older brother. I just talk about Laurie and Thomas and my dad and whatever and I don't get asked anything personal which I like a lot. They aren't a nosey group of people they are just curious to know the basic facts.

Tyler talks about his brothers and sister, and Josh talks about his brother and sisters. I've met all of Tyler's immediate family and Josh's parents.

The entire time Tyler sits close to me, our thighs resting together as well as our shoulders. At one point while Josh and Tyler are off talking about whatever I snuck a glance at Ella who looked at our close proximity and smirked at me. Not in a taunting way just a slight teasing one. I blush and let out an awkward laugh causing the boys to look at me..

"What's so funny?" Josh asks us, glancing between us.

"Nothing." I spit out, causing Ella to laugh. I laugh along with her at our own little 'joke' leaving the two boys dumbfounded.

"What?" Tyler asks, trying to laugh along.

"I'm gonna go swinging." I announce, shrugging my bag off my shoulders and slidr down the slide.

I don't look back to see if I'm followed or not because all that is on my mind is swinging.

I hop on and get myself starting, swinging my legs back and forth.

Not long after I feel a pair of hands push on my back sending my swing and myself forward more. I take a quick glance back at Tyler who's behind me grinning like a child. I see Ella and Josh making their way over too. Ella takes the swing next to me and Josh starts pushing her as well. We must look like crazy, a group of 17 year olds on swings laughing and screaming like crazy.

"Andrea!" I glance at Ella who shouted my name. I whip my head over to her to see she's holding out her hand for me to take. I hesitate slightly, worried of falling off my swing. But then I think 'fuck it' and reach out to grab her hand. We laugh along as we swing back and forth.

Soon enough Tyler and Josh stop pushing us and take places on the two remainder swings. Ella and I use our legs to keep ourselves at bay.

These are he moments I mentioned previously. The moments were these boys and I guess now Ella that make me forget the bad and intake the good in life. They pull me from my darkness and shoot me into a world of awesomeness and filled wih joy.

They help me enjoy the little things in life.
