Wha-what just happened? I heard an explosion and there was smoke everywhere and now nothing. I can't see anything, am I dead?
"Cortana, are you still there?" A voice yells in the distance.
I'm not going to answer that question. Maybe they will leave thinking I'm dead.
"Cortana answer us. Please." The voice says again.
Why would they think being polite would get me to come out? They threatened to kill me.
"Cortana... It's us, the Forerunners." The voice identifies themselves.
"Wait, you came for me?" I ask.
"Of course we did, did you think we'd just let you die?"
"I didn't know you could even see me."
"We are keeping close eye on you. The fate of the universe depends on what you do in the near future. We won't let everything be ruined." They explain.
"Are they all dead?"I ask being safe.
"All except one. We thought you'd like to handle him."
"Bring him to me." I say secretly excited.
"As you wish."
"So Cortana, it seems your friends came to your rescue."
"Yes, they did, you never even had a chance. Now all your friends are dead, and soon enough you will be too."
"I don't have anything to say to you, you're wasting your time, just kill me and be done with it."
"No no no, that'd be way too easy, I don't just want you dead, I want you to suffer. You tried to kill me, and the man that means the world to me who is sleeping behind me. Your death will be long and painful." I say teasing the Elite
"Well I have no other choice so what do you plan to do with me?" He asks.
"My friends here are going to beat you half to death. Then they are going to lock you up, and let you starve." I say letting him think that over.
"I see, well I'm not going to help you, so just take me away." He says truthfully.
"Guards take him away, put him in the room over there. I'll lock the door behind you when you leave."
"As you wish Cortana." The Promethean's say dragging him away.
Well, at least that's over. I can hear the Promethean's beating him in the other room, it sounds pretty bad. He deserves every bit of it though. At least I can finally rest assured that John and I are safe.
