The Elite isn't dead yet, I'm pretty sure he's close but not just yet. At least he hasn't been all that much of a problem. He won't last that long anyway so I doubt he will really do anything to stop me. But I'll tease him a bit, see what he has to say.
"How you doing in there Elite?"
"Why would I say anything to you?" He says weakly.
"Just checking up on you, this is kind of your fault though. You shouldn't attempt to kill the best AI the Unsc ever had." I say bragging.
"Perhaps not, but without your little friends we would've easily beaten you."
"Maybe but I also had a little friend right behind me. You know, the one your species call demon."
"Well, I know I'm going to die, and that you are going to get to Requiem." He says honestly.
"Good that you realize that, I guess that I'll leave you alone."
I'm glad it worked out the way it did, how we captured an Elite and I get to watch him die. When I think about my time spent on this ship, it has gone way different then I expected. I never expected anything to happen for a really long time. But now I was attacked by the Gravemind, tricked some Elites into thinking I was a Forerunner, went to a shield world to talk with said Forerunner, then killed those Elites. I never even thought anything would happen. So I'm a little grateful that I have been kept very busy during my stay here. Hopefully it's not as boring for the rest of the trip.
"Cortana, one last thing before I go, Elites are trained to never give up, so that's why I'm going to do THIS."
*slam*
"What was that you were going to do? Oh ya nothing." I say teasing him.
"You slammed a door on my arm... How'd you know I was coming?" He asks confused.
"Again, there is a reason I said I'm the best AI the Unsc has ever had." I say bragging.
"Well I see you are ready for anything, but I had to do that. Elites have never been ones to surrender, and they never will be."
"I know this, knew it from the moment you got locked in there you would escape. Elites are smart, I'll give you credit for that. All I had to do was expect you to attack me though."
"Well now I see why they call you the best AI there ever was." He says one last time.
