It's been a week. I've hardly drank or eaten anything. I've been watching Katniss. I need to be here when she wakes up. I can't abandon her like I did before.
"Peeta." I hear Haymitch's stern voice behind me. "Go get something to eat or drink. You're starting to look like Katniss did when she came home and found you with another girl."
"No." I whimper. "I have to be here when she wakes up."
"You're being stupid." Haymitch grumbles. "If you don't get out of this room right now and get something to eat, I'm going to call security on you and have you force-fed."
I quickly get up, knowing how horrible it is to be force-fed. That's what the doctors did to me in District 13.
"That's a good Peeta." Haymitch says, dropping down on the chair beside Katniss's bed.
"Prim!" She screams, straining to get out of the restraints the doctors have put her in. Her new tears cover the old tear streaks that roll down her cheeks. She's been like this for the whole week. She won't stop crying and screaming.
"Go on, Peeta." Haymitch tells me, shoving me into the hallway and closing the hospital door behind me. I still hear Katniss's strangled cries. I start to hum, trying to block out Katniss's cries, but it only reminds of how much I miss her angelic voice.
I have to get her back.
