(Sophie)

We arrived at the hideout about three hours later. The car ride was quieter than normal but I could not escape from the front of the car as I did in the limo. Dad’s car has always been kind of small and uncomfortable for me but hey, it’s luxurious inside. My family has always been wealthy since the beginning of times. That much I knew about my family history. I just always figured it was because they were all involved in the family business not because the government was used to using my familie’s power as their secret weapon.

After we passed security and left our baggage at some sort of belt that would deliver them to my room, I never knew had, we left to start training. I promised them I would be open-minded about this and to be completely honest I was a little curious about it all.

My parents lead me down a long white hallway where apparently we were being scanned.

“What is all this?” I said now scared. I didn’t want to believe it. I still had hope that all this would just be a bad nightmare; one that I would wake up from with the biggest relief of my life.

“It’s our code to enter the chamber honey. Its biometrics. Your information is already in from when you were a baby.” Mom said that like I was supposed to know that. Knowing I was still not panicking she continued, “We used to live here you know.” I thought we used to live in Pittsbourgh. We had not been in the car long enough for us to be in our old house. So when did we live here? I did feel sort of familiar here but how was I supposed to remember something that was not true; something that could not be true. “Now walk towards that chamber and it will take you to your room. We all go separately from here but don’t panic” she said clearly reading the expression in my eyes, “After we are inside all the rooms are connected.”

I walked forward not really sure if I wanted to continue this charade. As my attention left my mother's eyes I had to look forward, I would face this! The hallway was incredible. It was white, long and empty but at the same time you could feel you were not alone. “Beep” A noise came from the large black circular lens on the right end of the chamber. That is when I really started to panic. You have to keep it together, keep it together; it won’t be that long before you…

“Welcome back Miss Sophie. How are you doing today?” I heard a male voice ask. It was coming from the lens. This was all so weird! Don’t panic…

“Um... Hi,” I started confused. “Are you like a person or something?”

“No Miss Sophie, My name is Ike. I am a computer software created by the government to serve you. I will be your sidekick and mentor whenever you need my help. I’ve been working with your mother since the day I was created and now she has passed me down to you.” Joy now I have my own personal stalker. This is great!

“Oh that is so cool.” I said with fake enthusiasm. “What can you do?”

“Well, Miss Sophie, I can help you explore your powers. I can also plan meetings or travels for you. I will be in your new mobile phone and in your software in your normal room.” Wait so maybe he can help me plan my birthday party. I did need help.

“Hm.. I am starting to like this.” I said with true interest now. “So let’s say it’s my birthday in a few days…Could you plan that for me and throw it in my other house?” I walk through the now sliding white glass entrance to what I’m going to guess is my room. I was truly interested by the answer to this question when my mother interrupted.

“Sophie, Come out. It is time to start your training.” She said through the loud speakers of my new room. Geez… can no one give the girl some time to adjust to everything. I turn and look around. Somehow though, I felt like I had been here before; the soft pink linen covers; the blue ocean strip that surrounded the walls; the white clouds that flooded my ceiling. It all seemed so familiar.
