(Sophie)
“Agent Burns. Explain to us exactly what happened?” The voice came from the women siting in front of me but I couldn’t focus. I was still in shock. For being a super human, it took the same time as normal people to register and process emotions. For going though this traumatic experience it took even longer.
“I.. I don’t know.” I really didn’t know what went wrong. Everything was planned. Greyson was expected to be there.. not with a bomb. We couldn’t have known he was going to attempt to kill us all.
“We need to know to be able to aces the situation correctly. Just walk me thought what happened exactly?” I know she was trying to be understanding but she was not the one with missing parents, a comatose best friend, and a very deadly hurt and suspiciously not healing betrothed.
“Greyson was expected to be there. He had a bomb with him. It went off before I had time to react and I tried saving them, I really tried.” I remember the yells that came from the explosion and then the silence. I did get to Travis on time but he was very badly hurt. Dina, who was also close by, was also very badly hurt and Christian who had also followed me there was hit by the bomb almost directly. He should be better by now and he is not. There should have been something in the bomb. Something to prevent him from healing. What if he wasn’t immortal. What if he ends up dying on me? No this can’t be.
“We know, Sophie, we know. What happened next?” She was taking notes. Heck, I am pretty sure every living agent in the building was watching and taking notes of this interrogation.
“I had to leave, we have to leave but before I could move them I could hear the people from the party starting to panic and come closer to us. I didn’t know what to do. I panicked.”
“So what did you do?”
“It all happened so fast I couldn’t even control it.” I needed to clear my head because to be completely honest, not even I knew what happened. “I wanted time to stop. I wanted to turn back time so badly and well right then and there it all stopped. People running froze mid stride, falling chairs and cups froze mid way towards the floor and all faces were set on me.” I had stopped time. I didn’t know how it was possible but I had done it.
“And what else?”
“I wanted to be out of there, I couldn’t understand what was happening and It was going to be tricky carrying everyone back here so I took Travis in my arms and before I knew it I was here. I didn’t even have to think about it twice before my body just appeared in the front door of Langley.”
“So you Tele transported here?”
“I don’t know. I guess. And I went back for Dina and then Christian but something was wrong. He wasn’t healing. I know he takes longer than me to heal but he was just lying there. Dead.” I remembered thinking he was gone, dead. That was something I never wanted to live though ever again.
“Do you have any idea what could have gone wrong?”
“No, I... I don’t know.” My hand moved instinctively towards my neck where my locket now hung. The Agent’s eyes followed. It reminded me of Christian. Oh please be okay.
“What is that?” She asked curious.
“What? The locket?” Why did she want to know about my locket?
