My birthday is fast approaching and I can tell there is something off with Sophie. I don’t want to use my powers with her but not knowing is just as frustrating. Why does she have to be like this? One minuted we were more than fine and then the next she completely shuts down. Frustrating, I know. 

“Sir, what will we do for your birthday?”My computer assistant broke the silence in the room. 

“I don’t feel like doing anything special Lynn.” I sighed and rose from my bed to get ready for school. Ah, the torture. 

“Come on. We could take the Yacht for a ride, We haven’t been on it for so long. Ever since you messed up with the engine. We know how to fix it now. Let’s go. I need a vacation.” Even though she was a computer, Lynn was such a character. 

“You are a robot Lynn, you don’t take vacations.” I smiled. She really did know how to make me feel better. 

“Oh but I do sir. Let’s go. Please. You can even invite some friends over. Sophie and her friends maybe?” That was not such a bad idea. I guess that could work. 

After my normal morning routine I was ready to get out my door and face another day trying to act like nothing was wrong. It had been two days since Sophie shut me out and she is not letting me in at all. I want to read her mind, I want to make her feel better, whatever is bothering her. I want to help her but she is not letting me. 

“She is gone,” Sarah greeted me when I reached the kitchen. “She wanted to ride alone today.” I could see the look of sympathy she was giving me. I nodded, walked over to the pantry, grabbed myself a granola bar and I was out. 

“I’ll just use one of mine then, Goodbye.” I waved and I walked towards my Ashton Martin V8 Vintage. That car is just glorious. I got in, placed my bag on the passenger seat and headed towards school. 

When I moved with the Burns a couple of weeks ago everything moved with me. Lynn made sure to bring my favorite cars, my Ashton Martin Vintage and my Lagonda SUV, and the last present my parents gave me before they left; my Marquis 630 Sport Yacht. I’m usually not one to brag but I am just stating facts here. 

As I arrived to the school parking lot I could tell people were starting to stare. I sighed. People never get used to this car. Don’t get me wrong, I know I am lucky and all but sometimes the attention is too much. 

I parked next to a red BMW convertible, grabbed my bag and as soon as I popped open the door of my car Faith was there next to me. “You never told me you had an Ashton!” She squealed taking a peak at the red leather covering most of the inside of the car. 

“Um.. Yeah, no big deal.” I was not about to stay there chatting about who’s house was bigger. I was on a mission. I needed to find out what Sophie was hiding from me. I scanned the cars around me. If she came alone today it meant she came in her car. Seconds later I found her Rolls Royce parked by the other end of the parking lot. 

“Is today ‘bring your expensive car to school day?’ cause I would have brought mine too.” Faith said bringing my attention back to her. “Aren’t you and Sophie staying in like the same house anyways? Why the two cars today?” She was getting on my nerves now but what could I do? I wanted to get rid of her. 

“Faith aren’t we late for class?” I asked her. “I’ll talk to you later.” and walked away. 

When I got to English class everyone was already sitting down. “Mr. Silber, glad you could join us.” Mr. Walter, our english teacher announced for the whole class to hear. “Kids, this is the new addition to out class. Mr. Christian Silber. You may take a seat Mr. Silber.” he motioned me to the only seat available in the front row, right in the middle. Great. I nodded and walked over to my seat next to no one other than K-fed. Today was not going to be my day. “Hey do I know you from somewhere? You look familiar.” He asked as soon as I sat down.
