“Did you find her? Does she know?” I heard the urgency in Lynn’s voice as I entered through the huge maple door of what would have been my parent’s room. This was my last chance at getting my parents back and no one seemed to understand that. Worse, no one seemed to care enough to try and understand.

“Yeah Lynn, I found her.” I replayed uninterested. Urg, those body powers, they think they can rule everything just because they can fly.

“And did you have a chance to speak to her?” Lynn asked now with anticipation in her robotic face.

“No! She was out of sight before I could even make sure she was looking at me in the eyes. I didn’t even get a chance to set a secure mood around her, all she can remember now is my face and her father taking her away but something I do know. She sensed me, so it is her.”

“So they knows you are here.” she added.

“Yes they know but I don’t think they are very happy about it. I don’t know why but they didn’t really seem to welcome me there or even acknowledge me. I don’t know Lynn but I have a feeling she doesn’t even know who she is, what she is. This could be harder than what we had anticipated.” I did have that feeling, the way she didn’t understand my call, the way she seemed scared as she saw me there not even showing a hint of recognition and not even trying to defend herself. She definitely has no clue who she is.

“She doesn’t? Hmm…I think we miss counted. Let me check my database... I have nothing. There is no trace of her in the internet. She is a ghost. Sorry sir.” She clarifies with an ashamed tone. This makes me angrier. Who cared? One day would not make a difference… “That is why they didn’t welcome you! You ruined their plan to tell her who she is. Now they will have to rush it and believe me you will pay for it.” Lynn said this with no sense of urgency but with a ring of humor to her voice.

“Lynn this isn’t funny! Why will I have to pay? And how?” this keeps on getting worse. I mean today is just not my day. “And how did you miss count? You are a computer, you are supposed to be perfect aren’t you?”

“Well sir, when the person who put the date in me made the mistake, there is not much I can do. When your parents met Sophie a couple of years back he told me your father realized she didn’t like surprises and even though she was raised on the need to know basis, she still can’t accept it when she realized she has been living a lie. They were there when her parents Luke and Sarah told her they were spies and worked for the government. She made their lives hell for days after that. Now I’m sure you are the one they will blame it on. You will be the one to deal with this.” What? ME? You were the one who messed up the dates.

“I am not going to deal with the whining of a spoiled little brat just because our two lineages depend on it! Let our children get married. That might do the trick.” but I couldn’t do that. I knew I couldn’t. The life of my parents depended on it. I had to save them. I had to marry her. No matter how hard it might be.

“Are you okay Sir?” I guess I wasn’t but who could blame me? Here in the confines of my house I could brood in peace. Loosing my parents was not easy. It’s been two years since the day they never returned from their trip to New York. It was supposed to be an easy one. It was supposed to be just protocol, routine, yet it was the one mission they never returned from. I had enough money in my trust to fend for myself for this past two years and when I turn eighteen this month I would inherit my parents fortune but I didn’t want it without them. I would trade it for them any day.

“I will find them Lynn.” This might be a little more difficult than I had expected but I will do this for them.

My life had been planned for me since day one. I was raised with the idea that I would save my family by fulfilling my destiny and marrying this girl I only saw in pictures. I guessed it would be easy, that I might even end up being happy with Sophie but now that I see she doesn’t even know I might have to knock it up another notch. I left everything behind to come here; my friends, my home and even my family for someone who doesn’t even know who she is. I will do this for my parents. I bet they will try to sell her on the idea that our families are enemies, or on the idea that I am bad for her knowing that they made a pact with my parent to keep the peace long before I was born. I hated those two-faced body powers, specially the girl. I understand Edward was in love with Elizabeth but from what I have read of Elizabeth and what I have seen of the girl, this girl was no Elizabeth Burns.
