XO - Me :)

(Sophie's POV)

"Finally." We all said at the same time, all of us, including my nosy computer assistant.

"Did I mention how much I actually hate Latin." Christian started to move towards the door and I followed. I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me until now but I just realized that I just see Christian's Dad. He is here, safe and alive, that means Greyson lied, or maybe he got tricked. I don't know.

"That makes two of us." This was not the time to bring it up, yet another thing to keep quite... If Greyson already tried to kill Christian then I should just give this charade up then, I was only trying to push him away because I was afraid Greyson would hurt him, now he already has but he has the locket, he is safe now.

The door slid upwards and we both walked into the most unexpected room in the whole building. The first thing I recognized was the smell. It smelled like home, apple and cinnamon. Then the colors came in flooding. The room was painted in dark colors and the far west stood a brick wall. On that same wall there was a quote hanging from the middle lamp, home is where you need it to be, where the heart is. This was harder than I ever thought it would be. I took a couple more steps into the room and as soon as we both were in the door slid close behind me revealing our family portrait. Geezz , could they make this any worse?

"I know what you mean..." Christian said behind me. He moved closer to me, placed his hand on the small of my back and guided me to take a sit. I felt guilty, I wanted to tell him, and at that point I knew it would be the heck of a night. Time to start digging through my parent's office.

I always saw my parent's office as something sacred everywhere we went. In our house, I would never go into my parents' study without being invited in, I would never even consider going through their phone, computer or files, it would have been a violation of their privacy. And now that they were gone, here I am, rummaging through their every paper, book, and journal to see if I could find any details that help us find their location, at this point I would take anything.

This room was different than the home office, the space was big, a huge sofa divided the space between a desk with three screens that seemed to be going over security footage of the building and a more formal and vintage looking desk with a bookcase behind it.

After twenty minutes of useless searching I was at a loss, "I can't believe we haven't found anything." This was so frustrating, if I was to find something wouldn't they have left it somewhere I could find it? Maybe I don't have all the information yet? "Ike, could you give us a little help, I am sure you have access to..." OMG, how had I not thought of that before.

"Ike, I need access to the security footage from the night before my parents went on their mission." Of course, Ike could show me that, I don't know why this hadn't clicked. If I could see where they keep their things of value, If I could hear what they were saying maybe I would know where they went. Maybe I could save them.

"I can do that, however there is no audio. Security protocols." Ike responded.

"Don't sweat it, play the clip."

I could feel the anticipation, anxiety running through my veins. I finally had a real potential lead and I needed this to turn into something of consequence. As I watched the tape I could tell they were arguing about something. Actually, it looked like my mom was arguing with my dad, but he was not really participating in it, he was just stoic throughout it all, cold and distant. I wonder what that is all about.
