(Sophie)

He was way overdoing this. His birthday in a yacht? Did he really need to rub the money in people’s faces?

This was my frail attempt to find things to hate about Christian but the truth was that it was very hard to do. I could tell he was trying but what was I supposed to do? Kevin was my last resort. If he though I moved on then maybe he will let me go just enough for me to be able to get away. He has not let me out of his sight since the last time when we slept together and that was making it harder for me to set my plan in motion but now that Kevin was in the picture I am hopping Christian will back down.

“Sophie are you okay?” I very concerned Kevin asked. I disliked Kevin but I had to act. For as long as was necessary. I had to save the people I loved.

“I’m fine.” He looked at me but dropped it quickly. He knew me well enough as to know when I wanted to talk.

“Let’s go then.” He opened his door and walked all the way towards my side of the car to open mine.

“Thank you.” I said as I got out and we walked over to the front desk of the club.

“Christian Silber’s party?” Kevin asked unsure.

“Names please?” The young men in the front desk asked glancing at a list in his hands. List? How will Christian know who comes?

“Kevin Hummel and Sophie Burns.” He replied. The guy in the front desk, Daniel, according to his name tag, scanned the page checked us off and directed us towards one of the decks where, as closer as I got, I could see the extravagant lights and the loud music coming from the Yacht.

“Son of a B..,” Kevin started.

“Hey, no. This is his birthday. No fighting today.” I commanded Kevin. I was not going to deal with a pissing contest today.

“Fine.” He hissed but complied.

When we reached the porch of the yacht I could tell everyone was already waisted. This is not good. Alcohol, water all around, people get stupid ass ideas. “Um.. I’m going to go find Christian.” Kevin nodded and walked towards the bar.

The yacht was beautiful. There was no denying that. It all looked like a club, in the insides it had white couches that surrounded the boat like walls, neon lights that showed expensive bottles of alcohol and a huge stereo system. I continued walking and found myself staring at a small door. I opened and found a small set of stairs and as I started to walk down the stairs Christian appeared out of nowhere. “What are you doing here Sophie?” He asked coldly. Shit. What was I doing here? Umm...

“I was looking for you. It is getting kind of crazy out there you know.” I informed him but he didn’t care. I could tell. “Do you remember that day I was in your dream? I saw my uncle...” I slapped my hand over my mouth to cover it. Why the... why did I..

“What?” I caught him by surprise. Hell, I even caught me by surprise.

“I..” What could I saw now? I was just going to shut up. That way I could do no more harm.

“Sophie..” Christian took one step closer and I took up step back. He sighed. “You can’t turn your back on family because at the end of the day, they are all you have left. That and me, of course.” He said this as if it was the most odvious thing in the world and the continued, “But whatever you are going through now with your uncle, I..” He raised his hand to place it in my shoulder and I let him. I was in shock. “I can help you.”
