Are We Meant To Be? *2nd book of the Other Half Trilogy*

~ Ch. 20 ~

              Kanan's POV

    I can't believe this! We just left Ezra at Jabba the Hutt's Palace! I don't like the idea at all! I was sitting next to Zeb on this broken down looking Landspeeder. The Bounty Hunters, I've recognized a few from the Clone Wars. They obviously didn't help, they just smuggled everything and did dirty jobs for people like Jabba. We arrived in the town a few minutes later and we all split up. Hera and I looked for one half of the list while Zeb and Sabine went a different way with the other half of the list.

    "I don't like leaving Ezra there. Who knows what could happen?!" I said to Hera as I watched the Bounty Hunter in gray and green Clone armor follow Sabine and Zeb. "I don't trust that one either. He's done nothing but stare at Sabine! What's his aim?" I asked Hera. We stopped at a stall selling some fruit, I wasn't paying attention much, and she looked over a few and paid for some of them and the guy tending the stand put them in a bag and handed them to her.

    "I don't like the idea of leaving Ezra at Jabba's either, but, what choice did we have? I think Jabba probably would've thrown us in his jail or something. We can only trust that Ezra will behave until we return to get him. And Kanan, stop worrying about that Bounty Hunter. I'm sure Zeb and Sabine can kick his butt if he tries anything funny. Besides, I've seen Sabine look at him too, I think they have a thing for each other and it's cute. Maybe they are what you J- town calls other Halves." Hera said, as we continued to look at a meat stand that has a Jawa attending it. We finally found the Rancor meat after looking at the stand for a few minutes. It is actually quite a decent sized stand, compared to the rest of the stands, this one makes the rest seem small.

    "Alright, that's everything from our half of the list. Let's call Sabine and Zeb over com and see if they finished there half." Hera said. "Hopefully they did so that we can hurry back and get Ezra." I said, while grabbing my Comlink. Hera nodded in agreement. "Zeb, Sabine, are you guys done with your half of the list?" I asked them. "Yeah, we have and are headed back to the rendezvous point." Zeb said. "Meet you there then." I said, then put my com away. "I'll tell Chopper to start up the Ghost and come to our location, it's faster than a Landspeeder , so we can get to Jabba's quicker and get Ezra." Hera said. "I just hope he didn't get into any trouble while he was there." I said.

    We met up with Zeb, Sabine, and the Bounty Hunters a few minutes later at the rendezvous spot and were about to get on the Landspeeders, when there was a large shadow over us and we looked up and saw that the Ghost was above us, with the ramp down and Chopper waiting. This created a frenzy amongst us and the Bounty Hunters. We pulled out our weapons when their leader shouted, "Get them! They violated Jabba's demand!!" And we pulled out our weapons and fired as we headed to the ship. We had a good amount of the men down as we were only a few inches from the ramp, when, somehow, the green and gray Clone armor Bounty Hunter, got behind Sabine and held a blaster under her chin.

    "Enough! Put down your weapons and step away from the ship, or else she dies." the Bounty Hunter said. I could sense something was going to happen, what it is, I have no idea. Hera, Zeb, and I looked at each other and were about to set down our weapons when it happened. Sabine and the Bounty Hunter that was pointing a blaster to her head, smirked at each other and in an instant, turned around and they both started firing at the others. We started to fire again at the others and we reached the ramp and Hera told Chopper to start closing it and Sabine and the, now ex-Bounty Hunter, made it in time and we took off. In a flash of purple, Zeb had the ex-Bounty Hunter pinned against the wall and wasn't happy.

    "Wha' was that back there?! What're ya trying to pull here?!" Zeb yelled. I had to pull Zeb off of him, because I could tell that Zeb was unintentionally choking him. I was right as the man stumbled a little and caught his breathe. "We talked and he figured things out and wanted to leave Jabba for years, but, couldn't. He overheard them say that they were going to kill him. So, we made an agreement." Sabine said, helping the man get his balance. "Oh, yeah? And what is this 'agreement'?" Zeb asked. "We'd help him leave, if he joined our crew. I figured that sense we had the room, and we need the manpower, it couldn't hurt?" Sabine asked, looking from Hera to me. I looked at Hera and she shrugged and smiled. "Welcome to the Ghost crew. What is your name?" Hera asked. The man in Clone armor took off his helmet. "Boba. Boba Fett at your service." Boba said, doing a small head bow to Hera. Boba seems to be around, maybe a little bit older than Sabine? His skin is pale, he has light brown hair and light green eyes. I did notice that he seems to also have manners, with the way he was polite to Hera. "Thank you for allowing me to join your crew. But, I must ask....who is flying this ship?" Boba asked. That caused us all to go white and book it to the cockpit. Why didn't we check as soon as we got on?! We all entered the cockpit and went wide-eyed at who we saw in the drivers seat.

    "Sense when could you fly?!" Hera asked Ezra, stunned at how good he was flying her ship. "Well, I could explain everything, if I could get us to hyperspace first. So, just gimme a minute." Ezra said, spinning the Ghost to avoid blaster fire that was coming from the Bounty Hunters below. Ezra made it to space in a matter of minutes and jumped us to some coordinates in hyperspace. Ezra sighed and turned to face the rest of us, who haven't moved, cause we are still surprised at how amazing he flew. I was the first to move and I sat in my chair in the copilots side. Ezra shifted in the seat. "Will you guys quit staring?" he asked. The seemed to bring everyone back to their senses and questions started flying at Ezra like crazy. But.......there was one thing that I wanted to know. "How did you get away?" I asked. Everybody shut up after that left my lips.

    "Well, it was actually easy." then he got into how all of Jabba's guards were distracted because they were either watching girls dance, or stuffing their faces with really gross looking food. Then he explained that Jabba knew who he was and was about to call the Empress and get the reward money. That's when he knew he had to leave, and fast. So, he escaped through the ventilation system. It was when he left the Palace on a speeder that he stole, was when Jabba realized that he escaped and sent people after him. He contacted Chopper and then that's when they went to get us at the Market. "And now, here we are! In hyperspace! With a...........Bounty Hunter.......someone care to explain why he's here?" Ezra asked.

    "He's a part of this crew now. Ezra meet Boba Fett, Boba mee-" "I know who the young Prince is." Boba said, nodding to Ezra. I saw Ezra visibly stiffen. Did Ezra meet Boba before the rest of us? "Well, it's late. We should all get some sleep. I'll fly." Hera said. We all stood up and went to our quarters. "Oh, Zeb, Boba? You guys are now roommates. Don't give me that look Zeb. You are the only man left that has a spare bed." Hera said, then disappearing behind the door. Zeb mumbled something in his native tongue and Ezra laughed at whatever Zeb mumbled. The four of us then looked at him, curiously. "What? I speak Lassat." Ezra said, nonchalantly, then went into our room. I followed after him. He changed into his sleeping pants and I did the same. We laid on the bed and I wrapped my arm around his waist, holding him against me.

    "Since when could you speak Lassat?" I asked him. "Alien tongues always came naturally to me. It helped Jai and I out loads of time." he said, pulling the blanket over us. "You are just full of surprises aren't ya?" I asked him, amused. He gave me a quick kiss and said, "Yup." I only smiled and we went to sleep.

[ I'M SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG!!!!!! I just couldn't think of how to word some of the stuff. I'M SORRY!!!!!!! Anyways!!!! What is up with Boba and Ezra? Did Ezra meet Boba before and have problems with him? And what other languages can Ezra speak!? O.o
