Chapter Six (Important Authors Note At End!)

I woke up the next morning, after a night of thinking out the pros and the cons. I am still going to think about it at work too. I take Axel out, again. Me and Frank talk a little bit, i asked him about Jason and he said to go for it, i should be happy. But yes, im still going to think it over because its a big step, its been forever since ive been in a relationship so. Plus with him, he gets a lot of attention so that would mean i would too. Just ahhhhhh i dont know.....
I walk into work, oblivious of everyone, until i bump into someone, sending my morning coffee on their shirt.... Its of course Jason, wait.... Whats Jason doing here? "Jason? Im sorry about that!" I say, grabbing paper towels for him.
"Its alright, you seemed occupied with something on your mind. Work stress? Or what i asked?"
"What you asked, im still thinking it over. Can we discuss this in my office please?" He nods and we walk to my office. I show him a chair to sit at and i sit behind my desk. "So, why are you here?"
"I thought i could surprise you, maybe later we could go for lunch?"
"Oh, maybe. It depends on how much work i have to do...."
"Okay, well, text me later your answer for lunch. And maybe you can tell me your answer to my other question at lunch if we have it?"
"Sure, sounds good." He nods, gets up, comes in my direction and gives me a kiss on my cheek. I felt some sparks, but not a whole lot.
I told Jason that i had time for lunch, so we are meeting at a little sub place. I also have the answer to his other question. "Thanks for your time." Jason says as we sit down.
"No problem, i didnt have as much work to do as i thought."
"Well, thats good." Its silent for a few as we eat.
"Yes." I simply state. He gives me a confused look.
"What?" He asks.
"I said, yes." It takes him a second, then he finally gets it.
"Yay! Im so happy you said yes!" He says, acting like a child. I just chuckle.
"I want you to meet my roommate."
"Okay, i can come tonight. All i have to do is study the script a little bit."
"Ok, meet me at my work around 4:00 and we can go to my place together."
"Sounds great." We then finish our subs and says goodbye. I go back to work and finish my paperwork.
I meet Jason in the parking lot and we head to my place. We arrive and Axel comes running up to me, like everyday i get home from work. Then he sniffs Jason for a couple of minutes, Addison came from her room. "Hey Reagan! How was work?" She asks, the Jason hugs me from behind, Addisons face changes. "I see you have brought some company. Very friendly company..." She says, hinting friendly.
"Jason, this is Addison. Addison, Jason Bateman." I introduce, Jason releases me and shakes Addisons hand.
"Reagan, can i speak to you, alone?" I nod and tell Jason to make himself comfortable.
"What is it Addison?"
"I told you! Jason does like you! Im guessing you choose him?"
"Addison, Robert is married and i respect that. Yes, hes freaking adorable, but, Jason is cute and single and likes me back. Thats why we are together now..." She widens her eyes.
"Oh my god!!!! Yay!!!! Wait, what about Robert?" Does nothing get in her head?
"HES MARRIED!!!!! We are just friends, and i have to get back to Jason." I walk back into the living room, Jason is just zoned out into the TV. "Sorry about that..."
"Its alright. By the way, whos married?" Oh great, he heard me...
"Oh, just a friend of mine, no big deal..." Addison comes in and gives Jason a smile, then whispers in my ear.
"I invited the Downeys for dinner, maybe Jason can join?" I nod, she smiles.
"Jason, would you like to stay for dinner? I guess we are having some more company join us...."
"Yeah, sure. Id love to. Whos the company?"
"Some friends, youll find out when they come."
"Okay..."
"But, i have to make dinner so, just choose something to watch on TV, make yourself at home." He nods, grabbing the remote and changing it to football. I walk into the kitchen and prepare to make chicken.

I finish cooking and relax until Robert and Susan show up. The doorbell rings and i get up to answer it. "Hey Reagan!" They say in unison.
"Hi, come in." They come in, and i feel someones arms wrap around me, Jason. Robert and Susan give me a funny look. I see Addison smirk in the distance for some reason.
"Is that, Jason Bateman?" Susan asks, Robert stands there, he seems, i dont know but hus mood changed....
"In the flesh, nice to meet you Mrs. Downey, Mr. Downey." Jason says, holding out his hand for Robert to shake. It takes a second until Robert snaps out of his daydream and shakes Jasons hand.
"Please, call me Susan." Susan insists, Jason nods.
"Are you two.... Together?" Robert asks, Susan hits his arm and mumbles 'thats rude'
"Yes, as of today, actually!" Robert nods a weak nod.
"Im happy for you guys!" Susan says.
"Thank you!" Me and Jason say in unison.
"Um, well. Dinner is ready, you guys hungry?" Everyone nods, and we make our way to the dining room. Jason and Addison help set up the table. "I hope you like it, im an ok cook."
"Im sure its delicious." Jason says as we sit down and start eating. Its kind of quiet until Susan speaks up.
"So, how long have you known eachother?"
"We met yesterday, its kind of like love at first sight..." Jason answers, Susan nods.
"Thats nice. Do you still walk Axel everyday?" Me and Jason chuckle.
"Yes, Axel drew me to him, actually..."
"Just like me..." Robert decides to join the conversation. I wonder whats up with him?
"One gifted dog he is." Addison says.
"Thats what i said!" Jason says. Everyone gives a little chuckle except for Robert.
"Excuse me, ill be right back..." Robert says softly, standing up and walking away.
"Do you mind if i go and see whats up with him?" I ask Susan, she nods and goes back into a conversation with Jason and Addison. I walk in the direction Robert went and hear soft crying. I open my bedroom door and Roberts on my bed, facing away from the door, and head in hands. I walk in and sit next to him. "Robert?" He tries to pull himself back together.
"Yes?" He asks weakly.
"Whats wrong? Youve been acting unusual all night youve been here...."
"Its not important." He states, trying to get out of this conversation.
"Yes it is, your crying for Petes sake! I mean, i guess if you dont want to tell me thats fine, but does Susan know whats going on?"
"No, shes too busy talking to Jason to notice me..." I see whats going on here.
"Your jealous." I simply state, he stands up quickly.
"No, im not... Jealous! No! Please, that guy cant even come close to comparing with me, you know, sexy actor friend...."
"Robert..."
"Mhm?"
"Your jealous, its okay to be jealous. But Jason wont steal Susan away from you because im with him. You dont have to worry about it." He gives me a Downey grin.
"So i am your sexy actor friend?" Theres the Robert i know!
"No, Jason is. Your bumped down to cute actor friend...." I say, he gives me a pouty face, i lightly push him on his shoulder and go back to the table.
"Damn, you were gone a long time. Hasnt your mother taught you not to make out with married men?" Addison asks jokingly. Luckily Susan didnt hear, shes too busy talking to Jason.
"You know we werent making out, we just talked."
"About what?" Then Robert comes in again.
"About sexy actor friend...." I roll my eyes and see Addison widen hers.
"I hope thats Jason in your case, Reagan." Robert makes a fake offended face.
"Of course." I say.
"No, you know she means me...." Robert states, im at least glad hes back to normal.

We finish eating and everyone goes home, even Jason. "ROBERT WAS SO JEALOUS!" Addison shrieks.
"I know, thats what we talked about. But he denied it of course."
"I meant hes jealous of Jason."
"Yeah, i know he was."
"Your not getting what im saying...." I give her a confused look.
"I think i am..."
"No, Robert jealous of Jason, because your with Jason and not Robert. Or at least single so Robert has a chance with you...."
"No, no, no. He jealous of Jason because Susan was giving more attention to Jason than him, thats all." Addison shakes her head.
"Lets hope Jason and Susan have an affair, Robert divorces her, and you and Robert end up together!"
"What!? Thats not going to happen! Susan loves Robert, and i believe Jason wouldnt do that...."
"Okay...." She sings as she goes to bed. I roll my eyes one last time and head to bed myself.
~Roberts POV~
We got home from the dinner and i couldnt help but think that Susan likes Jason more than me.... Or that Reagan is actually with him! Wait, no. I shouldnt be jealous of that, i mean... I love Susan! This is crazy, a dog just leads a beautiful women into my life.... Im with Susan though and Reagan has a boyfriend now! I have to stop this. We can only be friends. Friends is good, i get to still be a part of her life and her of mine. So it works out.... Yeah, im just going to forget about the jealousy.
