Maria
Hauling her gym bag over her shoulder and putting her headphones in, Maria decided she'd earned a bacon cheeseburger. She'd developed a terrible habit of working out and using it to warrant her addiction to the diner across the street's burgers. She left the gym and pulled her hoodie tighter around herself, it was getting nippy even for Texas. She crossed the road without looking either way, ignoring the horns blaring.
She sighed with relief when she stepped inside Sally's. It was warm and the smell of food was mouthwatering, as was the guy sitting in a booth facing away from her. He looked tall, with broad shoulders and tousled hair, she wondered if his face was just as good. 'Maria, you are in a diner sweaty after a gym session it really doesn't matter.' She scolded herself, but sat down nearby.
The waitress came over and took her order, a bacon cheeseburger with curly fries and a coke. She'd consider dessert after she'd eaten. Another quality she loved about Sally's was how quickly the food was made, waiting for food wasn't Maria's forte. She'd only had to wait half an hour before her meal was in front of her. She pulled out her phone and began reading her emails as she ate her fries.
As expected, dessert had been a no brainer and she was sitting with her nose in the menu after eating her food at a frightening speed. Without putting the large menu down, she asked for a mint ice cream sundae and when the waitress took the card away she had the fright of her life.
Dean Winchester was sat in front of her eating a slice of pie.
"What the hell are you doing?" She snapped. He raised an eyebrow.
"Well damn hello to you too Maria." He said sarcastically.
"You realise how bad this looks?"
"I don't think I've ever looked bad, but that's a personal opinion." He smirked.
She pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration.
"I can agree with you on that Dean but if anyone on the jury happens to see us it's not gonna end well." Dean rolled his eyes.
"No ones gonna see us." He sighed.
"You can't be so sure!" She cried. "This is a prime example of COI!" Dean cocked his head in confusion.
"C O what?"
Maria groaned.
"Conflict of Interest. You don't even realise the implications of what you're doing."
"Implications? You didn't look like you cared about implications when we were in the bathroom-"
"Ok ok shut up!" She waved her hands frantically. Dean eyed her, clearly amused.
He spoke again with a totally different tone, it was objective and determined.
"Listen, I wanna finish what we started." She was thrown by the seriousness in his voice, flustered, she avoided eye contact. "I ain't asking you to lose the case for me, cuz I don't need to do the nasty with you to win." Her mouth fell open. He grabbed her phone and typed something into it.
"May the best man win, but in the mean time that's my number." And with that he took a sip of her drink, winked at her and left.
This man would be the end of her career.
