Justice Is Served

Dean
That morning Dean desperately tried to have a lie in. He'd hardly slept due to everything on his mind. If Ash found something then it could be his sure fire ticket to freedom and maybe win some points with Maria. He rolled over trying to lull himself into a sleepy state.

Just as he was beginning to nod off, his phone began buzzing.
"Son of a bitch." He muttered, swiping around at his bedside table blindly for the device. When he finally got hold of it, he answered. "Hello?" An excited voice greeted him.

"Dean, it's Sam. You better get up and come over, Ash found something!" Dean was awake in seconds.
"You're serious?" He said, leaping out of bed and getting dressed, phone on loudspeaker so he had both hands.
"Yeah, and it's good." Sam sounded pleased which gave Dean confidence.
"I'll be there in 10."

Exactly ten minutes later Dean sat in Sam's living room with his brother's laptop on his lap, looking through the data Ash had collected.
"And we can't get charged for having any of this information?"
"Nope." Sam grinned.

The brothers bumped fists and sipped their coffee.
"We should call judge Gao." Sam suggested.
"You mean you should call her." Dean sighed, rolling his eyes. Sam blushed, but ultimately ignored the comment, pulling out his phone.

Anna
When she saw the caller I.D. read 'Sam Winchester', Anna practically dived for her phone.
"H-hello?" She stuttered.
"Hey A- I mean judge Gao, um I have some major news pertaining to the case tomorrow." Anna grinned like an idiot at the fact he'd nearly used her first name.

"And what would that be?" She replied, desperately trying to sound composed.
"I have evidence that proves that the money Gordon Walker is using to fund Maria Ramirez as his attorney is illegitimate." He said.
"What? How did you come across that information?" It was unprofessional, but she was secretly pleased to hear it.

"I can send you all of it. It's not really my place to say but I think we should have a meeting before the trial tomorrow to present the information to Gordon and have him drop the charges." He suggested. Anna didn't think this was a bad idea, it would make the proceedings far quicker if he agreed and saved court time.

"That can be arranged, I agree that it'd make things easier." She heard Sam relay the information to someone else in the room, probably his brother.
"Thank you so much! We'll see you tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it." He said the last part slightly quieter and it melted her like butter on toast.

She said goodbye and hung up. When she regained control of her heart rate, she opened the email Sam had sent her with the proof inside it. She looked over all of it with in 20 minutes and it was obvious that he was right. Gordon Walker was by no means legally funding his lawyer. She'd have to inform her right away.

She wondered whether she should call Maria or email her. It was an unusual situation that she'd never faced before in her career. In the end she decided to call her, it wasn't the kind of information you simply emailed to someone.

On the third ring, the formidable lawyer answered.
"Maria Ramirez-Santos speaking."
"Hi Ms. Ramirez, it's judge Gao. Unfortunately I have to inform you of some information that has been brought to my attention in relation to your client." There was a short pause on the other end.

"Information?" She asked.
"Yes, it would appear the Mr. Walker has been paying for your services illegally."
"He what?" She snapped.
"I can er, send you the proof?" Anna tried, the woman sounded angry.
"Please do. Thank you for telling me. God this is so freaking annoying, I hated working with that guy."

Anna had to hold back a laugh.
"We all hated him." She said and there was wry chuckled on the other end of the line.
