Anna
Finally the evening came and doctors allowed Maria home under supervision. Luckily, Anna came with her with the box set of their favourite show as promised and junk food. Maria was back to eating solids but definitely couldn't manage her original large capacity of food.

In the end they'd compromised that Dean would drive them to Maria's and then they'd all congregate there on Christmas Eve. Anna wasn't sure if anyone had picked up on it, but Dean seemed more reluctant to be away from Maria than he was letting on. She imagined the experience would leave a lasting effect on the man.

She slouched on Maria's comfy couch, munching chips as they picked up the series where they left off.
"It's good to be home." Maria sighed.
"I bet." Anna grinned.

"Good to see Dean?" She asked.
"Definitely." Maria smiled. "It was great seeing all of you, I really didn't know if I'd get to, you know?" Anna nodded. She could hardly imagine how that felt.
"I don't think Dean hardly slept in the time you were gone."

Maria's face turned serious.
"You're kidding?"
"No way, he was so worried. Sam told me he called the minute that you dropped your phone." She told her. Maria seemed to be thinking this over carefully.

"I didn't realise he cared that much."
"Take it from me, he cares a lot. When the police said they couldn't do anything he just took control of things himself, we got Ash to help and he and Sam went to Gordon's apartment and everything." She recounted.

"They what?!"
"I know! They broke in but didn't find anything so then Dean thought to look up properties under the fake names Gordon used with the accounts and we found the basement." Maria's jaw dropped.
"That's awesome."

"No one actually told me what happened the night you guys rescued me." Maria laughed.
"I think Dean will want to be the one to tell you." Anna smiled. "But long story short we broke in, found you and Gordon came back, shot at Sam but only grazed him-" Maria interrupted.

"He shot Sam?!"
"And then I shot him." Maria's eyes went wide.
"Anna that is badass." She fist bumped her. Anna and Maria spent the rest of the evening laughing about how Gordon would fare in prison.

Sam
"Dean, will you please just enjoy the movie?" Sam sighed as his brother checked his phone for the hundredth time. The man refused to admit it but he was worried that something was going to happen to Maria.
"I was just checkin' the time." He muttered.

"How many times do you need to check it? Because I'm pretty sure you're the least time conscious person I've ever met." Sam countered.
"Whatever, I'll just turn it off." He did so, and slowly he got sucked into the movie. Sam felt a little bad, it was natural for him to worry after the incident.

After the film finished, they ordered a pizza and Sam decided to try and get Dean to open up a little.
"Good to have Maria back, right?" With a mouthful of pizza Dean said something along the lines of yes.

"You realise she's safe now?" Dean stiffened a little at Sam's statement. He gulped down the food.
"I see what you're doing Sammy and we are not playing psychologist tonight." He said, eyebrows furrowed.

Sam stared at him pointedly.
"It was just kinda crappy to think I might not have seen her again." He muttered and Sam was satisfied he'd at least gotten one emotionally charged sentence from Dean.
