Maria
Waking up in a place that wasn't pitch black was the biggest relief Maria had ever felt in her life. Scratch that, seeing Dean snoring in the chair next to her bed was. She realised she had woken up in hospital, and Gordon and his stupid torch were nowhere to be seen.

She sighed heavily, sinking further into the pillows and Dean stirred. When his eyelids slowly opened and he saw she was awake, all trace of sleep disappeared from his face and he rushed to her bedside.
"Maria! You're awake?"

"And you can see!" She rolled her eyes, her voice croaky. Dean ignored her sarcastic demeanour and pulled her into a hug. She was a little surprised by the sudden act of affection but she didn't dislike it. It was nice to be touched in a non-violent way after the past however many days it had been.

"What day is it?" She asked once Dean had pulled away from her, kissing her on top of her head.
"Sunday, the 20th."
"What the hell?" She snapped. She'd been gone for 6 days.

"Listen you gotta take it easy, they can't let you go until they've replaced the lost nutrients in your body or whatever. I wasn't really listenin' when they explained it." He admitted. Maria could already feel herself getting tired again.
"Can I have some water?" She asked. Dean nodded, and grinned quickly at her as he left the room. He returned moments later with a paper cup. He handed it to her and she sipped it, noticing she was attached to an I.V.

"Don't even think about it Maria. That's what's feeding you until your body can handle actual food." Dean warned, spotting her intentions a mile off.
"Whatever." She muttered, she felt as if she was going to doze off any second.

"Go back to sleep." Dean smiled. He took her hand and kissed it gently. "I'll be here when you wake up." He promised. Maria drifted back off quickly, with a lazy smile on her face.

Sam
He fiddled with the bulky bandage on his shoulder and Anna promptly smacked his hand away.
"Stop." She said firmly.
"When do you think we can see her?" Sam asked.
"She'll be asleep most of the time, Dean was just lucky to catch her on an awake period." She informed him.

He nodded in understanding and squeezed Anna's hand.
"It doesn't hurt too much does it?" She asked, concern evident on her face.
"Nah it's not too bad."

Sam had been lucky and the bullet had only grazed his shoulder, but it had needed a few stitches. He and Anna were sitting in the visitors waiting room of the hospital. They were absolutely exhausted from the night before and we're looking forward to getting some restful sleep.

It turned out Maria's condition wasn't too terrible, they'd found out she had been given some water and minimal food from what the doctors had said. The best case scenario was that she'd be out in three to four days, but even so Dean had been displeased saying that it was a long time.

Sam felt a weight on his upper arm and he realised Anna had fallen asleep on him, he couldn't help but grin down at her and he draped his jacket that was on the seat over her like a blanket. They could finally relax.
