Alexandra dressed in her princess wedding gown with ruffles and flower print at the bottom took a second look in the full length mirror. She thought about everything that led up to them making the biggest step of their lives. The dates, the fights, the sex, the trips, the relationship. She took a deep breath and before she could think, she was at the head of the aisle. They weren't at a church. An outdoor garden, with a waterfall that Aubrey stood in front of in his tux smiling. This was the most nervous he's ever been. No record deal, Grammy, show, movie has made him more nervous than this. But the way they both handled the pressure was commendable. Alexandra was trembling so bad that her heels were getting to be too hard to wear. But she did her walk. Every step was the step closer to whatever they wanted. Before Alexandra could reach Aubrey at the aquatic alter, someone else was at the head of the aisle. Everyone turned around to see the man behind her. And Alexandra looked in horror.

Alexandra woke up. She was back in bed. With Aubrey. In his bedroom while Aubrey was still asleep. It was still pitch black in California. Aubrey was back from his trip to Vegas and this was the first night he's slept in in the past 3 months. He'd been back to back recording and preparing for his festival. He was in a deep sleep and Alexandra didn't want to wake him up but she didn't want to have that on her mind. And she had no clue how to interpret what was going on. Alexandra was trembling and decided to go downstairs into the theater. It was Alexandra's favorite room in the house and the only place she really could really think in. She sat in the very back row of the room while the 1988 (classic) movie played on the projector. She sat balled up in a chair on her phone and a glass of wine in the cup holder. She thought about a conversation she had with her mother when she was in town a few weeks ago.

[Flashback]

Alexandra's mother: You're stupid for marrying him. Do you know what you're getting yourself into?

Alexandra: I just wanna be happy.

Her mother: No. I knew you would come to California and turn into some hoe. Now you're gonna be somebody's trophy wife?!

Alexandra: No. I moved to California because I hated it back home and it was either I move away or I killed myself and I had already had a plane ticket. Your mad because your marriages never worked out. Because there was always something that held you back in life. You know I was gonna be better than you. You've always known it. So when I come up with a plan you knew you wouldn't have the balls to go through with, you would put me down for it. I've always wished you were dead and I still do.

[In The Theater]

Alexandra never told Aubrey that she met with her mother because she was so negative about their union. He's never even met her and after a night of confession, he stopped asking to do so.

[Flashback to Aubrey and Alexandra in his car]

Aubrey: Why haven't I met your mother?

Alexandra (not looking at him): Because I used to cut. And everytime I'm critiqued by her, I cut.

Alexandra looked down.

Alexandra: It's not useful. It makes me feel worthless and less than. So I choose to just not mean anything to her like I feel like I did.

Aubrey: But she raised you.

Alexandra: And I know I didn't make that easy. But I just feel like distance would be the best thing for the both of us. Her and my younger sister had a better relationship anyway.

[Now]

Alexandra watched the movie but didn't really pay much attention because she was so exhausted. She'd had 2 magazine covers and she still had meetings for her upcoming store. Even though her and Aubrey had schedules like they never see each other, they were always together. Even if they fought they still managed to keep it together and remain close. They didn't really fight that much since Alexandra finally stopped fighting their relationships but there were some things that caused slight issues for the both of them but it was nothing to them at the end of the day. After about an hour through the movie Aubrey came downstairs and found Alexandra in her favorite room. He sat in the back row beside her and looked her in her face. He looked like he just woke up but like he washed his face. Alexandra looked at him in anticipation. Waiting to hear his voice because it was such a turn on when he first woke up.
