Alexandra had been sitting in a makeup chair for about 30 minutes. It didn't take much makeup for her to achieve whatever goal she was going after but this was her and Aubrey's big day. The day that everyone close to them anticipated, the day the press didn't know about but hinted to everyday they saw them together, something that scared and made Alexandra feel good inside. A girl's dreams and a man's ultimate ploy to make the woman of his dreams happy. Their day was here and all of their years of immaturity and back and forth and "I'm ready"'s and "We should wait"'s were over. Nothing mattered now but them and they were completely sure. No kids and access baggage would be brought into their union and all was completely perfect. Alexandra's makeup artist spoke to her as he did her eyeliner.
Marc: Are you excited about your new hubby?
Alexandra: Uhh, yeah. It's been 5 years, I think we're both ready.
Marc: He's an actor, right?
Alexander (smiling): Yeah, he's an amazing actor. I think he's even an academy award nominee for next year too. I'm so proud of him.
Marc (Moving on to her blush): Well congratulations to the both of you.
A woman pinned Alexandra's hair up in a classic princess bun. Alex's nerves were getting to her a little but she was more happy than anything. The group heard a knock at the door and it was Aubrey, not yet in his tux. The makeup team cleared out leaving them two alone. Aubrey grabbed her hands and held them.
Aubrey: Are you ready for this?
Alexandra smiled.
Alexandra: Yes, Mr. GQ. What's better to celebrate your 10th cover than to get married and have our pictures featured in it.
Aubrey kissed her forehead.
Aubrey: I know...I didn't think I would get a call back from them so many times. I'm actually really excited. But it's not about the issues, it's about us. Have you thought about your last name?
Alexandra (Shaking her head): Yeah. Alexandra Graham.
Alexandra stood up with Aubrey and they shared a long hug.
Aubrey: I've never felt this way about someone and I'm more than happy to spend the rest of my life with you. (Squeezing her) You have no clue how much this means to me. I thought I would never find that feeling before you -
Alexandra: Save this for the vows.
They both laughed out as Aubrey backed away from the hug. She almost began to cry but she held her tears back before she ruined her makeup.
Alexandra: This is the happiest day of our lives.
Aubrey hugged her again, kissed her and walked out. Everyone walked back in cheering for Alexandra. Her hair was done, her nails and makeup was done and now it was time for one of the biggest moments of the day. Alexandra's wedding dress. She had three people help her put on the dress with her makeup on in front of a full length mirror. Alexandra began to tear up again and her makeup artist fanned her eyes as she held her arms up for her dress to be adjusted. Alexandra was wearing a Vera Wang princess wedding gown with ruffles and a heart shape neckline. She took a deep breath as the dress was finally on.
A voice from the door: You look absolutely beautiful.
Alexandra and the other people in the room turned to her and saw who it was. The woman was a few inches shorter than Alex but looked to be a few years older than her. Alexandra ran to her.
Alexandra: Mom! (Hugging her) When did you get here?
Alexandra's mother: I landed about an hour ago. I wasn't gonna miss my oldest baby's wedding. You look so beautiful. You've always been a beautiful girl.
