CHAPTER 13
Opening my eyes I was instantly confused. Where the hell was I?
Adjusting my eyes I looked around the room, it was pale and fresh looking with the walls being a duck egg colour, and the furnishings in the same mutual tones. There was a glass door that led to the outside and at that moment was partially open causing the thin linen curtains to flutter. Although mutual with unisex colours it still felt feminine, too feminine for me.
I pulled the duvet back to find I was in another one of Noah’s shirts. The warm air swirled around my legs; it wasn’t cold as it was usually and without hesitation stepped out of the cocoon of the bed and across the room to the door that was closed shut.
As I stepped ever closer the noise pollution outside became louder and I could distinctly hear Noah’s voice yelling at someone.
“CAM!” he shrieked and a smile slid to my lips. We hadn’t been at Max’s one day and he was already causing havoc. That was so Noah. “Cam, get off me!”
“Why, want to see sleeping beauty?” a deep voice teased right outside my door. I stepped backwards my bare foot made contact with the warm coloured wood and a low, loud groan spread across the room. I had to stand on the one and only squeaky floor board in the whole freaking room. Bastard. “Or should I rephrase that? No-longer sleeping beauty no more.”
“Asshole,” Noah growled and footsteps started walking towards my door. So, I did the best thing possible in the time I had. I walked into the middle of the room, sat cross legged on the bed with my back to the door and stared at a painting of the sea that was positioned above the head board. There was a quiet knock on the door and I summoned whoever it was – I knew who it was – to come in. “Hey, Jodi. Good morning?”
I turned around and grinned. “Hey, are you okay?”
“Yeah, what are ya looking at?”
I nodded at the piece of art. “Painting,” I clarified before turning on the spot to look at him. “What time did we get here yesterday?” because after the McDonalds I knocked out and then I woke up here.
“Uh… seven,” he rubbed the back of his neck still looking at me. “I took you straight to bed, you were out of it,” he laughed dryly.
The laugh jerked me into verbal squits mode. “Oh God, what did I do? Did I talk, did I laugh… oh cheese! Did I sing? I am so sorry if I did, Mum tells me I sing in my sleep… or did I do something worse?” my face slackened as another thought came to mind. I have never been told that I do that, but I could, couldn’t I? My face scrunched in disgust as I got ready to utter the next words. “Did I fart?”
That got Noah into a laughing fit. His hands were soon wrapped around his stomach and he was keeling over laughing his heart to its full extent. “N-no… you d-d-didn’t. God, Jod-di, that was t-too fun-n-ny,” I chewed my lip and looked at my lap.
My eyebrows furrowed as I looked back up at him. “Did you change me?” the uncomfortable look said it all. “B-but I don’t have a bra on!” I yelped and crossed my arms across my chest to make the point more… yeah.
