~~ A/N So; the absolutely, gorgeously beautiful Sammie made the trailer at the side. She made me so, so happy today (I had a rough -- some douche of a man voiced his thoughts that he thought I was a man) and she truly made me smile and cry with happy tears and yeah; I officially love this girl to death now and will always be a fan. Thank you, my Lovely xoxox

PS: As well as being crazy talented in the trailer/arts section she is also a dab-hand in writing: you must go and read her story The Logan Brothers because, Man; I've read one chapter and it is intense. Like... GO READ ;) ~~

CHAPTER 37

“Okay, okay; so girls you all look great. We are going to f*cking annihilate that aisle, yeah?!”

I found myself worrying for the bride-to-be. And Nick; I mean he was going to marry this nut-job giving the pep talk. Not that I didn’t need one; I did. I was scared out of my mind I was going to break a leg in these flimsy heels; that I was going to smash my face on a pew; that I could – in worse scenario – kill the wedding mood by killing myself walking down the aisle.

“Jodi, like we practiced.” I zoned back in to find Maud turning her brain to soup with her heavy nodding. I copied back hesitantly. “Okay!” her arm thrusts into my face and I am swooped into a forceful hug. “Now show what you’re made of and walk down that aisle.”

She moans as I turn and taking a breath, walked up the three steps to the church doors. “Still hung-over?” I asked.

“So, so badly,” she whimpered.

“You’re not the only one,” I say thinking back to how the stag party had been waiting when I walked downstairs this morning.

She crumbled again and her maid of honour started cooing and wrapped her arms around the braid’s head. “Don’t mess up my hair!” she snapped and sniggering I turned my attention to the dreadful issue at hand.

Taking a breath I smoothed down the skirt and took a step forward. The room hushed as I made my way down the aisle. Like practiced I kept my chin high, stared straight to the arced chamber right at the back and made eye contact with no one.

I breathed in and relaxed my shoulders before glimpsing at the small crowd through heavily made-up lids. My eyes fell on Nick who was grinning at me as I took deliberate steps down the heavy dusty rose rug. My eyes then slipped to Mikey who was all dressed up like Nick in tails with a top hat under his arm.

I found Mum and Dad in the crowd with them was Kerry, Timmy, Jamie and Dillon and my auntie and uncle. All looked amazing, but my eyes fell on a boy one pew behind, squashed next to my over-weight grandpa and grandma, and no one could look better than him today.

Not Nick. Not even Maud who looked like a princess.

His face illuminated into the brightest of smiles and my breath caught. A grin broke out across my face as I thought of this morning, how the groom had reacted to the two of us. My ears were still ringing from his high-pitch voice and my cheeks were still warm from what he said.

“What the actual f*ck am I seeing right here?” I grumbled as I came to the world. I think that was the best sleep I had had in ages and it had to be disturbed by my stupid brother. Why couldn’t he just leave me be, couldn’t he see I was sleeping soundlessly?

“Jodi, get the hell off him!” I glared up at my brother. What the hell is he talking about?

And then the words sunk in and my eyes trailed down to the tanned, muscled, dark haired boy still snoring quietly through my brother’s ruckus. I looked back up to Nick who was staring down with wide, horrified eyes.
