CHAPTER 27

“JODI!”

The fear seeped into my body as I screamed in terror. It was like ice running down my back, or having a mini heart attack and honestly, its crap to be fifteen – nearly sixteen – and dying from a heart attack.

When my heart had dislodged from my throat I started my rant; “WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!?” Pulling the sheet off my head I found – who I suspected it to be – Noah, leaning against the doorway, running a hand through his morning hair. A small smirk was on his face as he watched me glaring at him. “DO YOU THINK ITS OKAY TO BEING ON A FIT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING?! YOU COULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL FREAKING BREAKFAST!!!”

Silence filled the room as I panted over at Noah and tried to calm down. Humour filled his eyes as he slowly licked his parched lips. That wasn’t really helping with me trying to calm down as he moistened his pretty little lips again.

“I’ll keep that in mind,” he said quietly as he walked – no, prowled into the room. My heart dropped at the how he all of a sudden seemed to be acting like a wildcat stalking his prey. My eyes dropped towards his bare feet to try and not look directly at his face. But it didn’t help with him making those measured steps that just seemed to make me feel even more flipped than a pancake. “Next time,” he added, his voice was deep and croaky from sleep and even though I loved the sound of his voice I wanted to quieten it… with my lips.

“So, apart from trying to shock me into a mental state where you will later send me to a mental home; why did you come and wake me up?”

He snorted and rolling his eyes he sat on my bed. “One; Jodi, do you know how much a mental home costs; the fees would be enormous,” I rolled my eyes and leaning forward I shoved him slightly, making him smile. “And two; it’s a secret, so get changed into warmish cool stuff and get some food in ya so we can get going.”

“Warmish cool?” I pulled a confused face at him.

Rolling his eyes he nodded; “Yeah; warmish cool.”

Laughing, I nodded and pulled my sheets off me and threw it over his head.

“Dork.”

“That’s an Americanism,” Noah reprimanded, trying to unsuccessfully pull the quilt from over his head. I made sure he wasn’t able to get it off by moving myself to sit where the quilt ended.

“Yeah, well I have been stuck with your type for a while now; I think I would pick up the lingo.”

“I like it more when you tell me off for my sayings; go back to that,” through the sheeting he poked his hand, the material pulling around as he went towards my face. Before I could pull back he had his hand – and the quilt – cupping my cheek and was stroking his cottoned thumb along my jaw.

“Okay,” I choked out and gulping I continued; “God, Noah, you do know dork means whale penis, right?” He snorted and shaking his head he pulled his hand away.

“Go get ready, Baby.”

“Fine,” I said reluctantly. “I will go and get ready.” I placed my hands on either side of his face, that was starting to warm up with the closed in space. “Baby,” I let my voice become airy and wispy, a smirk playing on my lips as I waited for his reaction.

There was an audible gulp through the sheets and satisfied, I let go of his face I jumped up and went towards the door; going towards the shower.

~~~
“Noah, I can’t do this,” I whined as my feet wobbled on the ice and wherever my feet went, so did my body. Laughing, he reached out for me and pulled me tight against him.
